Licensed Skydivers Thread

Well I did a search and I found nada, so ill start this incredible sports thread for anybody who is a licensed skydiver, active or not, and those who have done a skydive, or thinks skydiving is pretty cool. Skydiver Drivers also welcome. Static line jumps do not count.

Hi, I'm Maximo and I have 4400+ skydives and 33 B.A.S.E. jumps, I worked full time in the field of skydiving for 13 years and started jumping 20 years ago. my father got his jump wings from the U.S. Airforce in 1967 and he made about 100+ freefall jumps in the 1960's, he was a pilot as am I, and my father owned a cessna 172 when I was growing up that I learned to fly at a very young age, and if I said where I lived now that would be icing on the cake ;)

Ok, what I know about marijuana and skydiving that I've learned in the last 20+ years is... that most skydivers smoke marijuana, even the ones you wouldn't think do, and thats funny to me...skydivers who don't smoke marijuana don't care that I do, including the police officers, federal judges, probation officers and other law enforcement individuals that I know who skydive as I've actively smoked pot it in front of all of them at a number of boogies and DZ's I've been to without any repercussions from them in anyway including friendships off the DZ's, drug dealers jumping with the police or a judge is not uncommon in skydiving. basically for those who don't know anything about skydiving and the skydiving lifestyle, the "Drop Zone" is considered sacred ground and when your on the DZ your a Skydiver, not what it is that you do for a living, this is unlike any other sport I've ever participated in. skydivers are also like magnets to each other and will totally blow off important things to hang with each other and talk skydiving stories, and our stories are hard to believe sometimes but there most likely true stories as outrageous as they may sound. Skydivers will sell important things to themselves so they can get there fix, and skydiving isn't cheap folks, I rarely paid for my jumps or equipment as sharing marijuana and hashish did that for me. Anyway I could go on for hours about Skydiving and B.A.S.E., so if you feel like it let use know how many jumps you have and tell us about some of your harrowing moments please, Peace.

I would have to smoke pure THC, Pass out..then be pushed with a auto parachute opener to open my chute..only way I could jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

^ I think there is a place near me that will let you go solo if you take their course first and I believe it's more expensive.

Cool thread. I'm too scared. :D

yep, the most amazing 55 seconds of my life. did a tandem back in 05; fell out of contact with those peeps, been dying to go again and get certified.

i should note: did the jump back in my crazy montreal raver days. jumped at 2:30 on a sunday afternoon, hadnt slept since thursday night. Friday night was ARIA, then it was the weekend of the PICNIC ELECTRONIC at Parc Jean Drapeau with Mistress Barbara, then the CREAM rave the Molson Center. what a weekend. we were eating Blue Monkeys and Onstars like it was our job, and more K was ingested than i care to admit.

my buddy who organized it(the jump) was sweating so much the instructor asked what was wrong with him. he answers "nothing, just been up for 65 hours doing hard drugs and having fun." the instructor said, "oh, nothing to worry about then" and proceeded to load us up onto the plane. haha!! gotta love Canadians!!

have not partied like that in over 5 years. was fun then. still wanna skydive.

I jumped a couple of time back in 1967, then I decided that while the ride down was great the sudden stop at the end wasn't for me. Jumped with a double T U chute that was O D green. They didn't have the wings like today.
