i'd really prefer not to spray anything on my plants

If the predators don't work there is still hope, without spraying in flower. (Only spraying in veg when infested)

I moved to borg central (Colorado mnts) and had to learn mite control pretty fast. The key is prevention.

Keep your rooms clean, super clean. If it isn't helping your plants grow... it probably shouldn't be in there. No trash, clothes, misc junk, etc.

Prevention schedule consists of 1ml/gal of Azamax.... systemically. Every 30-45 days in veg and on the first day of flower. This puts Azamax into the plant for 30 days... mites that bite a plant like this will not eat/breed and will not increase the population. There is absolutely NO taste of this in the plant after about 30 days.

Cleaning up an infestation involves 5ml/gal + 1 capful of isopropyl alcohol, sprayed on vegging plants,,, 1 application and then a follow up after a week, if necessary. Personally I'll manually wipe every leaf down with a sponge dampened with 5ml/gal. It is important to clean/kill as many as you physically can.
Spraying MUST drench the ENTIRE plant.

I do not spray for mites during flower. At most I will manually remove mites with the wash and sponge on each individual leaf.... keeping the solution off of the buds as much as possible and even then I won't do it past week 2.

The amount of time it takes to apply Azamax systemically is a few minutes..... the hours it takes to battle mites through flower is F'ng ridiculous.... don't do it.

The only time I ever saw mites after I started that regimen was when I got lazy and didn't do the prevention... :D

Stay Safe! and stay away from Floramite buds.... GACK F'N NASTY!@#$%^

p.s. Those predators are awesome... I wonder if they can eat a bunch of Azamax poisoned mites?

Fuck those little bastards.

I've dealt with the borg twice and that was enough for me. I still constantly check the undersides of my leaves like I got ocd and I haven't had mites in like 2 years.

To eradicate them I hit'em and hit'em hard. Their life cycle is 3 days, so every 4 days for 2 straight weeks they get the crap sprayed out of them with whatever I'm using, to be sure I hit the next generation. Then I always check for signs of life and spray once a week for 2 more weeks. Worked for me. I've used lots of sprays IMO they all work, at least all the ones I tried, you just gotta be consistent and very very thorough.

I know there's people that say "Oh, they became immune to this stuff". Really? More likely you just didn't spray good enough. You gotta get every single speck of foliage. If you're lazy with it well you'll get the results you get. Usually I'll throw in a few no pest strips to supplement the hellfire I unleash on them. No mercy. No mercy. No mercy.

I gotta admit though I did spray all the way till like 1/2 way through flower. Lot of people don't wanna do that but I'd rather fix the problem and be done with it than drag it out and live with them.

Lady bugs may lower the population numbers but do not eliminate spider mites ever.
Praying Mantis are useless for spider mite control.
Spidermite Destroyers (Stethorus punctillum) do work if used in large numbers and you start the controls early.
Predatory mites work great for vegetative plants maintained at high humidity, they are useless for spider mite control of flowering plants under 12 hours of light.

If you have spider mites at the beginning of flowering, by the end of flowering they will be out of control.

I suggest first of all prevention, prevention, prevention.
I use a floramite dip of any new clone brought into the grow, I dip when very very small much less then a foot tall, the smaller the better, I dip 2 0r 3 times a week apart. Then put in a clean room to grow it out veg to be the mother to make new clean cuttings from, all clean of spider mites and pesticide free. If you are needing to spray flowering plants then you screwed up, I do not ever spray plants flowering or to be flowered with poisons.

Growing areas can be first cleaned up then sprayed during downtime to get any spider mites, or eggs, in the room, spray twice, 10 days apart.

For plants, dips work much better then spraying, at much less risk to the grower, just dip small plants, be sure to wear gloves and a mask when dipping with Floramite. It is a nasty poison, but can be used intelligently.
