Just got my papers!

Got a Canada Post thing on my doornob on Friday. I was anxious as hell and it said that I had a letter available for pick up the next day at a Post Office location.

Saturday, they advised me at the Post Office that mail didn't arrive until Monday and I was super pissed... the idiot mail person could have left a tick in the "Monday" box, but oh well. Getting scared that my hopes were raised for no reason.

Earlier today I picked up the letter in a big envelope that required a signature. I didn't look at the return address as I was too anxious. Walked out of the store to look for a bench to sit down on and open it with my wife. I peaked at the return address and it was indeed from Health Canada.

I opened it up and there was a letter informing me on the process for ordering marijuana from the government. Behind it, a form for ordering seeds. There were some more forms advising me on my right to possess and another form indicating the right to cultivate. I could hardly believe it!!!

I've been enduring migraines my entire life. It wasn't until I was about 10 years old when I realized that it was not normal for my head to throb all the time. I've been to the doctor on and off for years because conventional medicine sucked and so little is known about inflammatory illness. I experimented with marijuana and other mind altering substances in high school and realized that this actually DID help with my migraines.

I thought it was too good to be true to learn about MMAR. But then I discovered just how difficult the government makes it for younger individuals. It has been hell, but here I am now. I'm authorized to cultivate 25 fucking plants and have up to 5g for my per diem. Can you believe it? Because I almost can't.

I'm 25 years old and I bodybuild, so there is a huge inherent bias to think that I'm doing nothing more than faking it. Surely a young, muscle bound fellow doesn't have a chronic illness. Everyone other than close family members thought it was a ploy just to be able to smoke weed freely... umm, I live in BC and my neighbor is an RCMP officer. For years I've smoked outside in my undies in front of her and the neighbors and no one gave a shit. It's all about principals and legalities. I don't want to get in legal trouble because a dickhead decides to arrest me over something that shouldn't be illegal in the first place. I've also been consuming a brownie at work every day for the last year, and if my employer found out it could also have serious repercussions (even though my direct supervisors know and don't give two shits either way). This is such a huge burden off my shoulders.

It's almost 3am and I'm still too excited to sleep. I didn't sleep last night either because I was so excited and anxious about going to the Post Office. As ironic as it sounds, I got a migraine later in the evening and just took a narcotic pain killer as I didn't have any green medicine with me. I could roll a big joint to rejoice, but I'm just too lazy and content. To everyone else out there who's struggling, just know that there's hope. And there are hurdles coming too. I hope that current MMAR patients can have their right to grow grandfathered or that it's not abolished all together. But just keep fighting. Stick together and stop bickering on the forums. We must be intelligent, respectful and adamant. We must advocate for ourselves because virtually no one else wants to represent us. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Peace out and spread good vibes. Tomorrow I visit the grow shop. My room is in shambles and my last grow ended in March. I'm going to get an electrician to properly wire things so I can grow perpetually and safely. :)

Thanks, guys. I should have mentioned thatI sent my forms on July 17th and the returned items authorized me effective October 28th. Waiting was tough and jumping through all the hoops with a category B illness was tough as well.

The seed ordering forms were for the government. No thanks. Getting an electrician in to hook up an unused 250v outlet do I can run my 600w and 1000w lights simultaneously and grow perpetually. That will allow me to run a dehumidifier too so my grow will be perfect this time, providing I don't get clones with hitchhiking spider mites again!

In other good news I may be buying a new home and the wife will let me have an entire room for growing or perhaps I may convert half the garage. We'll have to see what the future has in store.
