What's new

Are my seedlings going to be ok?

Ugh, so anyway this is my 3rd grow. The last 2 were shockers and I've now realised what a crap gardener I am.

I planted the seeds 2 weeks ago and everything was going fine until 1 day I didn't water them. After that day some of the leaves went yellow and it seems like the plants aren't growing anymore. I know they are seedlings so growth is slow.

Anyway they were the last of my seeds. I have 9 in total. And took a picture of 2 that were in the middle of healthyness to give you'all an idea.

Cheers :)

Hey man. I don't know why I didn't specify before.

It's potting mix.
I haven't added any nutrients as I read that you shouldn't give them to seedlings, is that wrong?

The light is a 1000W HPS 3 foot away.

I'm watering every day.

It's not bagseed. It's blue cheese feminised by barneys farm.

I'm growing in a 1x4x1.4 tent. It had intake and exhaust and a cooltube.

All seeds germinated no problem.

I plan to have 6 in the tent 2 in the garden. I want at least 1 pound.

Once they go into ved I'm planning on giving them the lucas formula.

not watering for a day shouldnt be a problem unless they got really dry - the pot would be very light if that was the case and the plant would have gone droopy.

hard to tell from those pics but i would say if anything that the soil may be too wet or too rich in nutes. standard potting mix can be too hot (too much ferts) for seedlings.
also you would have been better to add some perlite or other drainage/aeration component to the soil at about 25%. have a read round the forums and there is lots of good info about soil mixes.

if you are going to grow in soil then you need to make sure the soil is good and suitable for cannabis - if you do that then you will have less problems during the grow.

for this grow i would make sure the top of the soil dries out between waterings and they may recover.

also you might be better to have the light a little closer - maybe 2.5 ft away and reduce to 2ft as they start to grow better

good luck

Hi soilmaster! I am not a pro.... but maybe it's too much water??

The soil looks very wet, and plants that small don't drink much. I water my seedlings every two-three days... maybe let them dry out before you water again?

Good luck

It's "potting soil" eh? It looks to me like thats the problem. I'd go get some good soil such as Fox Farm Ocean Forest, carefully pull the plants out and re-pot them in that. Never had any luck with no name potting soil, and especially ANYTHING that is sold in department stores. They germinate, look pretty good, then about two weeks later just linger and suffer.
