polyps just starting. pick it now?

gots to know. local dispensary says doesnt want polyps cause they indicate it's gone too long. but no amber trichs. they dont want any of those at all either. so what is the deal with polyps anyway?

ok, sorry i used the wrong word. polyps, no wonder nothing came up in a search.

i found this from Spruce Zues' harvest thread, and it is this i am referring to:
"The seed bracts should be swollen and the trichomes should be sticking straight out with bulbous ends" and later in same thread this

"No sense in chopping because the hairs have turned red if the calyxes have yet to swell etc." so i take it a calyxe is the same as a seed bract, so to me this means let the hairs come out of them. and do i care if those hairs are any particular color? here's the thread with great info on trichs cycling. http://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/210501-zeuss-take-harvesting-3.html

so after a while my plants are getting this swelling of the bracts with little white hairs coming out. i never cared what they did before, but the kid at the dispensary says he doesn't want to see any doing this.

why would he say that?

That sounds really backwards to me. Swollen = dense + mature as far as I have always learned.

Not swollen = too early and often spongey/whispy harvest.

I'm confused.

yeah, i wasn't there. but this guy was the guy forkin out the dough, so...? he also made the statement that his buyers wanted the weed when the trichs were just starting to turn CLOUDY!!!! WTF???

Just FYI this is a dispensary in Bellingham washington

Well what do dispensaries know besides what the pamphlet and 15 min crash course class(government approved, of course) taught them...not to mention years of biased opinions and anti-weed propaganda(Reefer Madness). That being said, what would you buy? I know I'd buy the bursting calyxes ANY day of the week over some under-developed, nonexistent amber trich'd fluff nuggets...yeah you heard it right, lol.

Now, all that being said, what about sativas that throw off fresh pistil growth even during the end of flowering? I have heard of this happening, but can't cite my source except that it was read on ICmag...Only reason i ask is because you've know got me doubting myself...by trichs, they are mostly cloudy with a few amber and even fewer clear(1% or less) and WAS going to pick some tonight, but held back to picking just a couple tops for comparison.

I do prefer and uppity high that sativas provide, but want a matured plant for sure above all. I can attest to the weight that is gained thru bulking and density from waiting longer to pick, as it was a mistake made at first. since learned. Going to wait a week and see how things have progressed, maybe wait 2 weeks...who knows, but I can wait, since i have plenty of nugget around.

Self doubt, they got me pickin my only purple kush. it wasn't even purple. would it have looked like this months pic o the month? never know now! most all cloudy trichs at least. shoulda let it go. crap

hey i'm right near canada too!.... in a outer mongolian kinda way,,,
