Here's a crappy pic of the VR..I'll get some better ones as the flowers develop and I weed them out.

Believe it or not I only have to move about 6 pots.
They have a lot of tops, lots of space under that canopy. Still have to trim all the suckers.

Going to try a new technique this round I picked up on another site coined "sandbagging". Where you wait until around early-mid/mid flower when they really start shifting energy to the flowers and then trim all the suckers and scruff out.
That seems to make sense in theory, shifting all the energy to the flowering tops at peak flower signal. Can't hurt to try.

I'll be interested to hear how that goes. I assume waiting a few weeks keeps them from stretching? Is that the reason?

I trim when I flip also. If I could avoid the accompanying stretch, I'd definitely wait.

I think the main reason is heavier flowers..in theory...yet restricting stretch may work on some types,,hmmm.

This is interesting. It would seem that for heavier flowers, getting rid of suckers and scrub would be more beneficial earlier than later. Diverting energy earlier than later.

Obviously it's not so cut and dry

i tend to wait till stretch has finished - maybe a bit longer - to trim the scruff etc.
i often find, by that time, that the plant has sucked the food out of some of the lower leaves that arent getting any light. also you can get a cutting out of it if you need to.

i have read that trimming too early can remove some flowering hormones and delay them budding up - which may or may not be true

looking nice in there...

She actually finished around 56 days, but I let her go to close to 70 if I remember. Didn't need to,but it didn't hurt the smoke any.
