Because they are not really anonymous, they are people, that is how they incur danger.

I like Anonymous, I think we should be their allies, those of us that choose to. For instance, wouldn't it be nice to have all of the dea and drug task force member names and addresses? We could get them busted, we could get their kids busted, we could get their wives busted, and that would start to fuck with them pretty fast. That is just one way, there are many ways to fuck with them if we know who they are.

I thought the arrests that were made were in the UK myself. If the gov't can figure out who is behind Anonymous, the cartel certainly can.

Do you have a vague idea how much value rides within these organizations? I'd bet my balls each major cartel has quite a strong team of computer wizards to take care of things for them.

Can't really criticize anonymous for this. One of them, their family, has been kidnapped. They want him/her back. Maybe some of them pay dearly, but if they don't try, their friend is dead anyway.

computer wizards? lol im a fucking computer whiz, still not a goddamn hacker though. anonymous isn't just script kiddies as evidenced by the hacks on BOA and Sony have shown. and also anynymous is just that, anonymous as is any and every serious hacker, i dunno who these guys were that were busted but they are not the real guys behind the hacks. i have known real hackers and used to move in the circles. you don't catch hackers that easily if they're good and these guys are good. they seem good anyway been out of the scene a while. if the mexican cartel does have hackers i doubt they are as good as anonymous. if they were the cartel would just rob banks instead of bullshittin around with growing weed.

real hackers rob banks to the tunes of millions a day without getting caught. you hear about em once in a while. like the guy who got caught in the credit card scam. he stole millions before they ever even caught up.

The only way the cartel could get at Anonymous is having special agents provacateur infiltrate IRC chatrooms and shit.. would take awhile... But if they started turning some nerds to the darkside they could expand their business opportunities. Identity fraud, etc, fits right in with their operational needs. If they could get at fingerprint databases, interpol networks, etc etc... The counterintel alone would pay for itself a hundredfold, and what if they could alter fingerprint records so their money launderers wouldn't have to have their toepads sewn to their fingertips... so gross.

Supposedly an informant high in a cartel said they had already done something to the border cameras...

Other than that they're only getting info from domain name registration... and moles in the FBI

DEcrim wont make this go away. Decrim still has all supply and dealing illegal, and under the control of the same fucks who run it everywhere else.
Lets not be naive either... even if legal dope shops opened up, you really think the local "Legitimate buisnessmen" arent going to use their usual methods to take shares or full control of these buisnesses.
Im sure some of the dope shops in rougher areas must be paying "Insurance" money, just like the hot dog sellers, and the booze shops have to.

Plenty of them have been busted and had family addresses published, it is really hard to believe they would be so stupid, if the Feds get them, 20 years or life in jail, when the Mexicans get them and their families..... Messy.

Reading up about it, it seems that their first DDOS tools the Anon hackers gave out to the script kiddies in Anon left tracks and they are all getting done. Also, what was once thought to be anonymous hacking that leaves no trace, is no longer safe.... National Security and all that...
