Should I buy this grow tent package?

One friend said no way, cheap parts everywhere that will probably die on me. Another says it's a great bargain.

ive been happy with the lights i bought from htg, good customer service and descrete packaging. i cant comment on the tent and its parts but i looked at their stand alone tent 6 mo ago but checked out greeners hydro (http://www.greners.com/i/grow-tents/hydrohut.html) and went with the 4'x4'Secret Jardin and im glad i went a little bigger.

fwiw, i bought the SJ because of the ease of access on the side panels & quality zippers. im in a wheelchair so the side access and easy zippers won me over. if you can use both hands to zip / unzip then a quality zipper may not be that much of an issue.


as far as the package deal, it sure makes it easy getting everything at once.



and my SJ is NOT light tight.........none are.

I was actually looking at that same setup. It would fit perfectly in the space I have, plus I like the portability of it.

I use alot of HTG stuff. Never had any problems. They're good people too.
I'd get a better exhaust and some sort of odor control, but the rest is cool.

hyrdorshops that carry growlabs, IMHE have always dealed and beat anything I could find online. Just my 2c.

not enough vent fan, it's just a duct-booster fan. would probably cool a 250w but not a 400w in that small a tent. I own 2 HTG tents, although they are cheapo, they work.
doesn't come with a filter, so no odor control

I'd pay a little more to get better stuff.

HTG ballasts are hard wired to the socket. so if you want to upgrade to a new reflector that limits your options.

id go w/ a tent from greners.com. they offer just about the best prices you can get for tents. only thing ive bought from htg are lights and a 424cfm inline fan. i have 2x 1000w, 1x 600w and 2x 400's and never had a problem w/ any of them.

The only thing i wouln't get cheap is the ballast...but didn't have good luck with the digital greenhouses

I use the HTG 400w in a Secret Jardin DR90II, works great for me.

As already mentioned the main problem I see with the kit is the fan. You will have some hot temps if you run that fan.

Maybe get a fan and Secret Jardin from Greners, and get the HTG 400w?

It's fine depending on your needs.
It's not the biggest space so I would keep the ballast outside the tent or you will have a heat issue because of the fan size as noted above.
But this way you will be fine.
