Autoflower that sometimes requires a half hour of dark to trigger?

Heyas! :D

I really haven't a clue how to search for this trait in autoflowers... so I'm asking to see if anyone else has a few links that would help me out.

I'm looking for an autoflower strain that's a decent yielder and sometimes throws a female that's “almost” an autoflower... meaning she needs a half hour to an hour of dark to trigger flower.

Anything up to about 5hrs of dark would be best.

I have a VERY short growing season and (through root warming) it would be possible to throw up a 2 month – 3 month flower variety.... once a year. I don't have enough of a growing season to veg outdoor so I would essentially be vegging 24/7 through winter... intro to sun in the spring and flower would trigger right away.

The plan is to sprout 10 seeds at a time in 24/7 lighting to get ones that don't flower. Take clones... throw originals in increasingly longer dark periods until their flowering trigger is found.

I don't care if it's an indica or sativa since it's going to be used for topicals. :D

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.... steerage to appropriate threads with additional info is even more appreciated. :D

I think what you are looking for are not autoflowering plants, but light-sensitive plants which will flower at 20/4 or 18/6 but not at 24/7.
Afaik Guerilla Gold was one such strain. There are many others out there but atleast this should nudge u towards the correct direction.

Autoflowering by definition means that it will flower uncontrollably, under any light regiment, when it itself decides to :p

Riiiiiight.... so basically I'm looking for a crappy autoflower. LOL

20/4 would be awesome. :D I'll also take a look into the Guerilla gold, thanks ;D

Here is another one to look for Auto Afghani even though it is not a true auto follow link and see.

I would put a buck on that the Dr's IAF is based on this strain but don't quote me.

The Iranian photo is a fast growing plant that is kinda like a auto in that aspect. You might do some research on that strain. They get really nice yields.

No I can't, hence my original question.
I have an extremely short season, as I stated in my original post. Doesn't matter at this point as I've most likely missed this years season anyway. No time to start from seed and select before then.... Oh well.

This thread isn't about why I can't flower inside, thanks anyway. :D

hey hydro-soil

im kinda in the same position as you, at 65 Latitute, season is about may- to mid august, maybe kind of the same conditions as you?

i found "auto" afghani, iranian short season to be the closest to what we are looking for, they could even be the same strain... iranian short season is VERY expensive but it seems worth it BUT theres some contreversy out there... and the "Auto" Afhani that reibsi used i havent even found able to buy online yet..

does anyone know any other similar strains?
or where auto afhani can be bought?

Whats up Hydro-Soil!
A few summers ago I bought a few packs of Mighty Mite.
With vegging them under 24hrs of light they never did start to flower.
So Id imagine you could clone them and keep under 24hrs of light
without them flipn.
When I put them outdoors, the daylight hours would have been close
to about 18hrs, thats when they slowly started to flower!
Not bad yielding plants that were roughly 3-4ft tall. Quite the smelly
pine plants they were!!
Cheers Bro

Last season I had 1 IAF under 24 hrs of light and it never flowered until it went outside. This year I am going to try and take some clones off of her and see if that works.

you should run 20/4 with your lights and give the plants a chance to grow even more roots in the darkness.
