Super Skunk / Hashplant 600w

Hey IC… I've got 12 clones of SuperSkunk#1/Hashplant currently under a 4 bank HO t5. I know that indicas are not as great for a vert scrog setup, which is what I have recently constructed.

This will be my second attempt at a vert grow after a complete failure with poor genetics and high heat. I now have proper exhaust and a/c, blah blah blah, and my new room is just about dialled in.

Now, the clones are about 3 weeks from cut and starting to grow rather nicely under the t5s, about double the size since i got them. I would post pics but do not own a camera. Should I continue under the t5s for a couple of weeks or veg around the screen with my 600w hps in the middle?

i would use the 600, if there indica dom, veg them for awhile to make sure they can yield for you.

Another question: should i spend/waste the money on a mh conversion bulb for veg?

no, just get a few (2-4) 24 watt 6400k cfls, sounds wack but its pretty all much all thats needed to stop strecth under a hps.

why stop strecth ? thats need for more yields.

Would it really stretch out that much through veg under a hps? I have never vegged under a hps as I used to run a perpetual SOG. I still have my HO t5 setup for moms and young plants or cuttings.

If you don't encourage stretch with an Indica dom strain using vert, then you are not maximizing the potential of running vert imo...

Ok, vert circle scrog, 600 in the middle. Should I have my light just above the top of the plants through veg, then lower the light when I switch to bud to allow more light to the whole plant? Just tryin to do this right.

i dont beleive that strecthy plants outyeild ones that dont overstrecth, what i mean is that if u ran a halide untill yuour stretch was finished youll have just as many budsites theyll just be closer together, the whole strecth out the stems so the buds are further away from the light makes no sense to me, strech is just stem not growth.

How will the bud sites grow further away from the light? Don't plants grow toward the light source?

a good stretch gives you more bud sites than a short plant, if they dont stretch you may have 3 or 4 bud sites per branch as a longer branch will have 7or 8 bud sites, provide enough light and they all will be fat buds,more bud sites equal more yield.

i keep mine about 2/3rds the way up, giving light to the lower braches is criticaal for lower bud development.

yeah pretty much , like i said i try to keep intense light to all of the plant, if the bulb is a little lower than the tip top bud it still gets strong light and the lower branches get strong light to, I train plants all through veg and flower, tieing braches to the screen and spreading it out true scrogg style, im currently doing 4 plants in a vert scrogg with a 1000 hps in the middle, plants are no more than 2ft away from light, next week 4 more go in and in 3 weeks 4 more go in for a total of 12 all with there own 1000, 3 total 1000's

Would you not increase yield by keeping the bulb centered on your plants through flower, near the BULK of the growth?

Gotcha. Plants are starting to thrive in the new room. Still no camera. I also don't really want to post any pics of my grow. Nothing to do with anyone here, just kind of a personal thing. Maybe I'm just being a bit paranoid.
