1st Grow White widow scrog w/400hps

Hey everyone.
Been smoking for 7/8 years now and have finally decided ive had enough of paying for decent grass and made an investment.

Ive spent countless hours reading up on this stuff, but nothing helps more than comments and suggestions from people who have been there and done that.

Here's my set up

• 2' x 3' x 6' tent covered in mylar.
• 400 watt hps w/ open air reflector
• 4" high-velocity inline fan (170 cfm)
• 4" Carbon filter
• My planting soil is a composition of the following
• 6" fan

:coco fiber, perlite, pumice, cow manure, worm castings, bat guano, kelp meal, greensand, peat moss (pre mixed Potting soil @ local garden center)

I currently have 4 feminized white widow seeds from Nirvana sprouting. I could use some advice on how many plants to actually grow as i dont want to drown them out in the scrog. I will probably take the 3 strongest plants and let the 4th die.

My current grow plan is:
5 weeks veg (depending on how they grow)
8-9 weeks flower
Dry then probably 2-3 week cure.

Ill probably be updating every 4-5 days with pics

One thing im undecided on is the nutes. Ive read good things about foxfarm brand nutes. Anyone have suggestions?

Looks like you're starting off with a good set up. Welcome to the site also. Is your ballast mechanical or digital?

As for your Nute question, Fox Farm is pretty steady. In my opinion a better beginner nute kit is the General Organics GObox. Seeing how your space isn't overly large you'd probably get 2-3 plants in your area if you're scrogging. I've seen one plant fill that grow space.

blaze: the ballast is mechanical... Once i get a few grows under my belt ill probably switch to a bigger tent with better light....

Looks clean and simple grow bro...

But in that kind of space, I would think hanging that bulb vertical would be much more efficient. Check out the vert section here on ICmag to see what I mean. If you put a plant in each corner and have the bulb in the middle, you'll have plenty of room to scrog and the yield will probably be bigger.

Just shooting the shit really though... No idea.

Yeah I wouldn't plan on flowering much at 6 weeks..but that's all you.

Alright, its been a while, but ive been busy and didnt see a point in posting until i see some good progress come on. As you will see in the coming pics, i have 4 strong white widow girls @ 9 days.

I started my calender at day 1 being when i moved them out of the sprouting medium and into soil.
I also added two T5 bulbs to the corner of the tent to add a little more light... It was on sale at HD so what the hell...

Here are all 4 of them:



These are all at day 9.
First Up: Daisy Duke (fem White widow)

She is probably one of my strongest plants.

Next up: KC (fem White Widow)


Next: Wendy (fem White Widow)
One of the stronger plants as well...


Last and not least: Tess (fem White Widow)

Feeding: I have been feeding them a mix of nutes and am seeing good drainage so i would say im fairly happy with the potting soil.

Lighting:
I am keeping my 400hps 16" from the top of plant. I have also added two T5 bulbs to the corner of the tent.

as far as ventilation, i couldnt be happier! i have a 6" as well as a 4" intake. My exhaust vents out a 4" duct.

Temperatures:
Day: Maintaining a constant 84.7 degrees F
Night: Maintaing a constant 76.4 degrees F

Please let me hear some suggestions as its my first time and there must be something i can do better based on the pictures.

Rock on, you're gonna love growing as much as the smoking lol! White Widow is an excellent choice, matter of fact that was the first strain I grew too. Keep up the good work

haha please please don't pick them at 6 weeks! WW is a 10 to 12 week strain, as are most indica's and indica/sativa hybrids... here is another thread to read, probably one of the most important instructionals to read in my opinion...

Day 44

Day 44

well its been some time... i lost the internet for a week and pretty much forgot about posting... anyway i had some time tonight.

Day 44: I am on 12/12 lighting

You can see they are in bigger pots as well as there is 1 missing. During transplant i had some help who as it turns out does not know what he is doing... the root ball broke in half and she didnt make it.

Anyway i am watering every 3 days, however i mist it with a sprayer in the morning (8am) and before the lights go out (8pm). I am using Budda Bloom which is a very low concentrate.

I also added two T12 fluro bars to the one side. I dont know if it is doing much but it certainly cannot hurt. (it was on sale at home depot and saw it as i was walking by....)

Anyway I'd like to hear some opinions from some growers out there on how i can improve anything. thanks
