strains with an effect like xanex?

Hi so I am looking for a plant that has an indica affect similiar to xanex anyone have any advice? A strong anti-anxiety euphoric relaxing buzz that is somewhat sedetive and dreamy yet clear and lucid and not detrimental to the speech processing centers of the brain. Leaving one in an open creative somewhat playfull state yet very relaxed and dreamy.

in my experience the only strains with a name I remember that I recall feeling similiar was a blueberry bubba crosss and yumboldt.

I likes me some good potent glue-your-ass-to-the-couch Indica, but as someone with a 'script for Xanax, I can tell you as fact that as a Central Nervous System tranquilizer, there is nothing clear and lucid about it. Like all benzo's (Xanax, Valium, Klonopin, Ativan, etc.) it will make you slur your speech and it impairs memory like a mofo.

Relaxing, yes. Clear headed and doesn't impair speech? Exceed the recommended dose and report back. You can get stoned all day and still function. Take one too many Xanax and you're rubber band man with a speech impediment.

I see the relaxing bit you're driving at, but it's an apples an oranges comparison.

Blue crosses....it's a fact that they reduce anxiety. However, you will have to experiment to find the right plant/seed/clone/pheno that you are looking for. Blue Hawaiian Sativa, blue moonshine, any DJ gear has anti anxiety qualities for the most part. But overall, I'd say that if you are looking for a strain that relaxes you but allows you to function normally than it MUST have some blueberry in there...other strains may work but this is the big picture that I think you are asking about....
And if you want a typical xanex experience....eat hella ganja food and smoke some hash...days, weeks, years, will fly by without you feeling anything....pretty much like xanex...Why do you want to feel nothing, again?

You're probably right. As it came across to me, the OP was looking for Xanax in joint form. I was just pointing out the negatives of the Benzo experience.

To the OP: I'm sorry if I misread the intentions of your post. I just know how evil benzo's can be.

Personally, I'd recommend something from the Blue family. Blue Moonshine is a fave of mine, along with Blueberry and crosses of BB, like NL x BB

My favorite strain we all know would be a high recommendation, since it's so good for anxiety and very clear with nice creative mental edges to it. The hash can be very dreamy if that is what you are looking for, that comfy centered clear head state where you can just drift off at peace with your mind & body. I know that feeling well and it's better than xanax which frankly always made me feel wacked out kinda but I guess pills just do that.

Blue Heaven from DJ, which sadly is no longer available really unless you know someone with a cut or seeds from it but similiar plants may be found according to him in his recent Vanillaluna or Cocoa Kush offerings.

exactly, welderdan you are correct benzos are dangerous and its exactly the reason I dont take them. But I know cannabis has the potential to be so many things that it can be what I described. I just havnt really found anything that relaxed me and melted my anxiety the way xanex has since taking xanex, and i dont really know what else to compare the feeling to. I am just hoping that theres a strain out there or potential parents to create one that fits my description as I feel the medical benefits would be huge.

also i worded it the way I did because i dont want people that equate the feeling of xanex to being hit with a 2x4 in the head to post the strain.

i think many of us have found some strains that are brain drainers
give you that kind of zombie look, staring off in space
not my holy grail weed, but might be called a MJ benzo
so far, white widow crosses have seemed to have affected me this way, but that may just coincidence(need more grows!)

Try DJ's flo or a bubblegum strain. Either choice will calm you down,put a smile on your face and make the day a little more interesting. Neither one will make you freakout in public or make you appear "a little slow" when you are speaking. I'm smoking bubbledust at the moment and it seems to fit the bill.I take 40mg celexa/day but I'm off all benzos for 2 years...enjoying a calmer life through cannabis.
Ps. neither strain will make you too drowsy.

This is a hard question to answer.. Benzodiazepine lowers your blood pressure and hart rate (hypnotic).. Cannabis does the opposite.

Good question, I also would love to find something similar to benzos. I need something that doesnt make me lose shit all the damn time! Xanax is a real bitch once you get hooked on it, as Im sure everyone is aware of. A strain that couchlocks but doesnt cause paranoia. Im pretty stoked about Super Lemon Haze so far. Havent tried it yet.

SLH is a Sativa and not good for Anxiety. I have grown it. Its much more of a up high then couch lock.. Taste and smells great..
