What's new

there here ( what MR.X using ) LED

You need 730-740nm for flower induction and longer wavelength IR for transpiration, the leaves want to "see" at least some heat. That's both what an ordinary light bulb can do for you, funny enough.

there are a lot of very successful LED grows with no spectrum of light above 660nm.

via the contact email:
The Evo50V3 measures 50cm long, 10cm wide and 2cm tall.
Has Led 40W, 45W total consumption with Driver.

Prices
Evo50, 40W, 3 groups of Led, 50x10x2cm Price 172'5€
Evo70, missing pictures in the blog, 55W, 4 groups led, 70x10x2cm Price 230'35 €,
Evo90, 70W, 5 groups of Led, 90x10x2cm price € 243'4€

Prices not including shipping - you would have to contact them to further get that figure.
These are in euros right? So the evo90 would be about $332 each?

Sorry GP73LPC just saw your thread regarding prices now.

This is particularly true with well adapted varieties of cannabis. Some landrace sativas were (in practice) hard to induce flowering using R and B emitters, but with additional spectrum of light at the end of the lights on period were flowered successfully. I opted for incandescent lights turned on for 15 minutes or so just after the main luminaire was switched off. The quantity of light did not have to be great, just present. I ended up using a 75 watt halogen bulb to cover a 3 'x 3' x 6' flowering chamber and even the most stubborn plant would pop into flowering. Once the flowering was induced, the light was no longer needed and they continued flowering until they were harvested at full term ripeness.

guys,

word of warning. I have not received my lens caps yet. I am not sure what's going on, but I would hold off if your thinking of placing an order till I get them...

I cannot say what's happening, but I'll fill you in if they come or not...

Hi habeeb, have you received your lens caps? Also, in general, how is it going with those lights? as already mentioned on this thread there is no IR, UV or deep red? Wandering if those lights can really deliver top buds and all. Would be so great having you update us on everything. Thanks

My Evo90 was also delivered without lenses. However a few hours ago I received an email with the tracking number for my lenses so mine are on the way at least, hopefully your's are too habeeb.

There is no IR, UV or deep red diodes on those - this is correct to my knowledge. Every grouping consists of 6 red diodes and 3 white. Originally I thought those were warm white diodes, I seem to think I read that somewhere, but they definitely give off a very blue tinge and must be cool white as others have said. As for the lack of actual deep red diodes if you check the spectrum it still has a little light in the deep red spectrum - apparently that is enough, although I obviously cannot say for sure since my plants are only on the first days of veg.

Mountain Monkey I don't think you have to worry about heat from these babies. Mine has been running for almost 2 days straight now and the heat sink is only luke-warm to the touch. I know I was worried about my 400W HPS in a small room when I used that, but this does not worry me the least.

I will try to take some pics tonight or tomorrow. I've already promised others to take some pictures too, but I must admit I have been a bit slow in that regard.

yes,

I received update of the lens caps, and got tracking number for them also..

I actually got rid of the plants under my light a while back ( for clone ). I have some seedlings under one, and they look good, but without the lens caps who knows the actually power of these..

I might actually switch growing pot plants to veggie plants.. I consume very little, and as we all know growing takes lots of work.. I think I will venture into organic hydro, but for pot plants the future looks dim right now..

I will actually be excited to test these lights though for veggies, as I still have my lumigrow, GLH and kessil, to see the power compared to these lights... I have high expectations, and think obviously for the production of something like a short crop like lettuce, these lights would lower electrical costs while giving great production..

the main thing I like abut these lights is no fan. the lumigrow is a horrible high pitch, and when I work in a garden I want peace and quiet, not some loud noise. also there simple design gets lots of points in my book. they look great, seem to function great, excellent with the dimming feature.

I guess it's up to what LED they used and how good they work. all in all, I think these guys could push the envelope for LED production. given time, as they are a new company I have high hopes they will help growers wanting LED to fulfill that request with high quality products...

Great to hear habeeb. I think you might also be right about these guys pushing the envelope, I have very high expectations for this light at least.

Anyways I uploaded some pictures to my photoalbum. A few comments though. First off I had some germination issues ("#¤"#¤" vendors) so I had to hold back some of the plants as much as humanly possible so all plants have only been under the light for around 36 hours. Second the lenses are missing and it's hard to judge anything until they are on. And third the light needs to hang lower and it will be later tonight - I just need to cut up a piece of chain to fit. Oh and I do have a small blower on the plants in there, I just took it out for the pictures. :p

Also I'm probably pushing it a bit with 9 plants under one Evo90, but that is fully intentional. I want to push this thing to it's limits and see how it works out.

hi jinxx,

well here's the only update I can give you guys.. I do have some clones rooting, so maybe I'll switch them over to the evo led, and flower them out...

I did notice the topped plants, in the first post, that under the evo they grew so much quicker.. the tops got to like 4 nodes I believe as the other set under my GLH got to 2. I was impressed, but once again no lens caps directing the light, no full experience..

I have a 2x2 tent, which would be perfect to see the power of two evo 50.. let me see if I'm gonna hang onto my pot plants, and maybe in 3 weeks we might have a grow show?

here's some BB seedlings, lost1 to being so mutated he grew a ball for a root, then I chopped two other mutants.. name of the game with DJ..

also the unit is showing on my kill-a-watt 43 watts.

Hey there Habeeb, Stoked you have the evo....what are your temps like? how hot does those things get and how much has it affected your grow area?

these look like great units, and mr x clearly got great results with them... but even though it uses crees etc i think the spectrum could be better.
having used LED's with extra far red (740nm), found that they really speed up the flowering response - seem to make them a bit faster than hps even.
similar led units with much less far red were noticeably slower.

that said the modular strip design will allow you to space the clusters over the canopy more evenly and thats cool.
