I was wondering if its possible to grow dank buds using only foxfarm products? I want to keep this grow as simple as possible being this is my 2nd time growing and i've read that foxfarm's soil and nutes is great for beginner growers. Im using foxfarm ocean forest soil along with foxfarm grow big and tiger bloom. I also have a bottle of cal mag on hand for when its needed.

Im planning on using a 250w hps in a small grow tent measurements are 3ft tall x 2.5ft wide x 2ft deep. I will be growing from clones and the genetics i have on hand is Reserva Privada OG #18, SFV OG, Afghani Bullrider and Sour Dubble. Would any of these 4 strain's required additional nutes or something that i dont have listed that i will be need in order to grow these genetics? Or can i pull a full grow with what i have with the end result being some ok stuff?

Hey Lifer

If your goal is to keep it simple then you will be fine with what you have. I love Ocean Forest soil and if you have used it before then you know there is enough food in the bag to feed the plants for 2 to 3 weeks. This would be a good time to water with the third ingredient you didnt purchase which is Fox Farm Big Bloom ( its just a weak tea in a bottle ) but you will survive without it.

Also I recall the Tiger Bloom has a really low ph which needs to be adjusted so if you dont have ph up and down you might want to get some of that.

That cab of yours is pretty short are you doing a scrog?

Nice strains for a second grow, must be Cali folk. Good luck with it.

Thanks for the reply Jenn, quick question is tiger bloom and big bloom the same thing? Or should I say serve the same purpose? Can I get by with just one or do I need to get the big bloom also? And would this be for veg or when I flower? I won't be doing a scrog grow, I will top and train the plants to try and minimize the height and yes I'm from Cali :)

Big Bloom is a watered down tea in a bottle, very weak. Is it needed, no you will be fine without it. You can use it from the start of your grow until the end of your grow.

Tiger Bloom will be your main flower fertilizer, and like I said they keep the ph pretty low so it needs to be adjusted.

I havent used the Fox Farm nutrients in a long time, I switched to PBP products a long time ago. Way better in my oppinion, but what your using will be just fine.

Good luck with everything. - Jenn

You can skip out on the bottles and go for a better cheaper method: organic teas.

The fox farms nutrients are organic/chemical which is kind of contradictory in some ways.

The chemicals feed the plant while killing the beneficial bacteria in the soil.

anyways: I use FFOF with, 1tsp molasses 1tsp kelp meal 1tsp Earthworm Castings per gallon of water. I feed every other or every third watering.

for Flower i just substitute 1tsp HIGH P GUANO for 1tsp of the kelp meal that goes into the veg mix.

I have no idea what my ph/ppms are but i have healthy plants with no little to no DEF every time.

During late veg / early flower i do feed every day or every other day tho.

Just use the ff feeding schedule and you should be fine. Since I water every 3 days i just feed every time instead of twice a week, and flush every 2-3 weeks. The calmag should be able to get you by without big bloom. That stuff is kind of a rip as others have suggested.

You will grow some nice looking buds if your environment is in check.

I'm thinking about adding molasses for veg and maybe some type of hyper nutrient for the last couple weeks of flower to maximize yield. As someone else said there is a chance the tiger bloom will be to low of a ph, just keep an eye on your plants.

be sure to pick up the solubles as well...the beastie bloomz will pack on the weight and the cha-ching will pack on the trichs...

Also think about the microbe brew and the kangaroots...

over all the FF line is pretty damn good...

I am probably going to get the cha ching first and see how it works. I'm about to switch a couple skunks to 12/12 so I'll get a side by side opportunity with and without in 6 weeks or so.

i run the whole ff line and love it. although tiger bloom and grow big are chem, i've never my had any ill effects on my micro media, always have phenominal root masses. i would also hope if the chemicals in the gb and bb would kill the microbes that ff would not recommend using the whole line together as the microbrew and kangaroots both encourage and feed the microbes, but that is a good thing to look into chief (thx). all in all, ff is the best i've used next to pure organic. ran gh for a few years and hesi for a couple runs and ff has always been good to me. one of my bro's uses the humbolt line and loves it, and other bro uses the botinacar and loves it, and both are always impressed with what i produce with the ff line so i think its really what you like and what works for you. gl.

unless you are in week five of flowering...hold off on the cha ching, it is meant more for trich production...the Beastiez should be used for weeks 3-4 to pack on the weight...then use the cha ching to finish out the plants...the Open Sesame is used 1 week prior to flipping and for the first two weeks of flower.

IME fox farms ocean forest is the shit;the nutes are not as good as others. floranova or dynagrow work better for me. I am sure others on here will disagree, maybe they are using different ml/g. I logve floraliscious + with floranova... the only reason i wont use floranova outdoors us because dynagrow works better with my fertigation setup. Check out floranova, you wont be disapointed.

I have less than a month left to go before harvest, I'm actually taking one of my plants down next week and the rest will fall on the 2nd week on Jan 2012. I will update this page In a few weeks and give my thoughts on the ff products.

FF Happy Frog potting soil, Beasty Bloomz for bud weight and Cha-Ching for Tricome production, flush for 2 weeks and you have some excellent medicine.

I have had great results with my fox farm nutes. I used other organic soil, but their nutes per schedule, feed every other watering. Molasses during veg and flower. You should be very happy with the results. Peace and respect

i used to use the organic big bloom. It is wattered down and very low nutes.. but thats what i need is just a little in my soil goes a long way.. and i don't get that nasty nute aftertaste, even without flushing, but there all almost the same when it comes down to it..eg. worm castings and bat guano...but the best is maken ur own tea....
