Are you happy where you live?

I hate where I live, combination of boredom, living here wayyyy to long, and just the general population I deal with/am surrounded by (suburbs). Also the job situation sucks balls unless your IT/engineer, which I certainly am NOT.
For the first time I am actually legitimately seeking a job that will get me outta of the state and into the great state of VT :) I have really grown tired of winter too, a lot ppl will be like 'wtf, why VT then' but I love snowboarding and being up in the mountains and away from here, I will enjoy the winter there (hopefully)

I don't like where I live mainly just because of the fucking heat and humidity its so fucking nasty most of the year. It affects you, you feel soooo much more alive when fall comes or when you go on a roadtrip in the summer.

But I'm stuck because I'm one of those guys that looks after his parents... been fighting for years to move them to a new city.

Could not be more so.

IMHO
Contentment is interior.
Your location is exterior.

I moved from the beautiful, wooded mountains of the Catskills in NY to the dry, desolate barrio that is central valley California. I hate this shithole... from the gangbangers and crime, to the lower than low pay. I work as a network tech for a school district part time(all they'll hire for) and I would make more money and get benefits if I worked in fast food full time. My job is considered prestigious in most people's eyes around here, but only because their jobs involve standing outside the welfare office on the first of the month. I know everywhere has it's downfalls, but this place sucks balls.

I'm hoping to move to Hawaii. Get off the grid as best I can, get back to basics, do some freelance computer work, and grow some killer outdoor tropical phenos.

i suppose you can find something great about every place and something sucky, but i prefer more nature on the whole to concrete.

Amen, SSO! But if I can't be surrounded by the woods and nature, I want a view of the ocean out my windows. I don't know how people can say the magic of Hawaii fades after a while of living there. I guess some people just don't stop, look around, and realize how amazingly beautiful some places can be.
