Ozoning Water?

My ozone generator claims that it can purify water and other liquids. Anyone see any benefits to this in a DWC. (Before putting it in the buckets)

I ozonate my tap water and it works great, water can sit for weeks without getting funky

If I don't ozonate it, it will be funky in 5-7 days

thats not in a dwc though, thats just hand watering my mothers and clones

ozone would be good for your raw water but once you add nutes no so good

growshopfrank is right. The ozone reacts with a # of essential nutrients pulling them out of solution or simply oxidizing them. Fe i am pretty sure is one of the minerals. Hope this helps. I will add that there are many commercial produce growers utilizing UV/Ozone in their nutrient solution. However they are capable of adding back what is lost from the reactions.

Ok, I was really talking about ozoning it before the nutes were added to get any impurities out of the water.
