Back in the nineties..

Back in the nineties..

I was banned from the local amusement park for drinking a cider that was not bought from the local amusement park, freaking nazis :)
Not the koolest shit i ever did, and i'm usually very good with spotting authority figures on the open, but at the park them security guards wear purple uniforms, and that color i associate with Prince and good times, so who knew they would take my ciders, boot, ban and later fine me for a freaking cider!

The best part is when you donate seeds, have a test grow going for GN, and then get banned because a breeder doesn't want anyone to see the mutant plants that came out of their seed pack (not gypsys, a different breeder's gear I purchased, just to clarify).... Not me, of course, but a 'close friend' :moon:

Wasn't around for a couple months, till 'they' decided to bite the bullet and rejoin

You get on the wrong side of an ego, and you get banned... It's more about who you piss off, than breaking any TOU, IMVHO. Unless you're openly trading clones... They'll just throw you out, and call you a troll, never to return, all posts are invisible

When you put in time writing up posts, and doing grow reports, to just be banned and have all that info disappear into invisible cyber space is pretty disheartening.. Enough so that it is hard to get motivated to come back and do it all again... Then you realize all those old friends are worth coming back for ;)

Its sad that I have to agree with this. It has much more to do with which admin you piss off than what you do. Its pretty hard to never break any of the TOU so they can say it is justified but we all know that people get banned while others get an endless series of warnings or nothing at all. I am hoping Spurr's ban is just a temporary one but even if it is I am sure that the admin gunning for him will get him permabanned eventually. Cheers on admins having grudges!

Banning should be a last resort imo. It's used way too loosely here. Like has already been mentioned people that contribute to this site making threads, posting pics, sending in seeds etc. deserve more than to be banned over petty disagreements. I didn't know Spurr was banned but that doesn't surprise me one bit. He contributes, posts his opinion (whether you like it or not) and gets the "you're not welcome here anymore" banning. Nice :/

What probably pushed spurr off the edge into being banned was his insistence that he helped Weezard via email. Weezard publicly said that that was not the case but spurr insisted that it was true and that Weezard was a liar.

We all know that exchanging emails is forbidden in the TOU for our own safety correct?

So why would spurr push the point in this obviously bannable behavior? Errr... who can say...

It would be my unsubstantiated guess that this Faux Pas directly lead to his demise.

But then all you conspiracy minded members can draw you own conclusions, as I'm pretty sure you already have.

That makes sense and if that is the case then you can't really be mad at IC for the banning I reckon. Outing your own bad behavior is your own fault sorry to say!

But there have been other members banned for questionable reasons no doubt!

9. Banning: People who violate IC Magazine's forum guidelines are subject to banning. Once someone has been banned from the site, we do not allow complaints from other members about it. Once banned, we are done with that individual, and no amount of complaining from other members will help. We do not justify our bans to the general membership. Those who complain about a banishment, are subject to being banned themselves.

Once we got to specific names .. that's when the thread got closed.
