2-3k sealed Drip Stadium

Just gearing up for my next stadium run. Installed an 80 site drip system ala Bobblehead (thanks!) that will hopefully make my life easier. Did a hand water last time and it sucked. Also switched to coco this time and already seeing the benefits.
Got a question about lighting though, last run I had 3ks fixed and ended up with some badly burned plants at the end. I started out feeding them too much, was watering every 2 days with 1.5 EC in FFOF/Happy Frog/Perlite mix, so I was definitely overdoing things, thought you had to up the nutes to compensate for co2(first time running co2), but went a bit overboard. Anyway after 2 weeks they started to yellow and progressed from there until totally defoliated and final buds were burnt and crispy. Really bad.
Now I am wondering if that was solely from overfeeding or did too much light also play a part. So I am putting 2k on a vert mover and either leaving the 1k in the middle or replacing it with a 600 MH that I have on hand. What do you guys think?
The room is about 8 x 6.5 x 7

Heres a pic of the last run which was a disaster.
Started getting yellow at two weeks.

Anyway on to better things. These are pics of the drip sysytem and the new round ready to flip. Serious Ak47

Just made this post in another thread......2600 watts is dead on for 52 sq ft , but height again is a factor for heat extraction....

Coco`s your friend......learn it....dial it......Cal/Mag supplements ftw.......

Make sure your containers don`t stay too wet.....watch out for rootborn critters......

Good luck....DHF......:ying:.......

couple things...

if one of those drippers happen to start leaking where its attached to the main feed line, or if the dripper line is tugged a little in the wrong way, water on the bulb = explosion....

you have no place to drain the water, yet there is an electrical plug on the floor. ready to zap the shit out of you, when you are standing in that pool of runoff....

the drip system is very inefficient, the plants at the top are getting way more water then the plants on the bottom. you need to loop the whole drip system to have even pressure to all drippers....

good luck!! and if you need some help on that drip system....

Nice looking grow and love the Geopots! I've tried most of the other brands and they really seem to be the best.

Nice Headees, lets get some details from you... what nutes, what size of pumps you're running for the drip system, how often you plan to water, are you vegging in the vert stadium or in another room and how long you veg for?

DHF had some good tips and I like what Krunchbubble said about the drip system. Hopefully it won't leak on you.

Cant wait to see this in action!!

Hey thanks for the feedback everybody.

DHF- 2600 it is. I made a vert/horizontal combo light mover tonight. 2 1k horti's yoyo vertical on the sides and a 600 watt MH runs horizontal in the middle. Should hit every inch of the canopy.

Krunch- Good point about water hitting the bulbs, hadnt really considered that.
I actually was originally going to loop the 1/2" main feed line throughout the whole room and use blumats, but after seeing Bobbles design it seemed like the way to go. The stakes are adjustable so you can compensate for any pressure difference. I did test the system and it seemed like everything was getting even water aside from a few drippers that needed some adjusting.
This is my first drip setup so I will just see how it goes, any help would be great.

As far as the electrical cords, I didnt even notice that when I took the pic, but yea that would be a bad way to get a new hairdo.:bashhead: The room is still not ready to run, but all the electrical wires will be off the ground either on cinder blocks or on the wall when I actually flip it. Unfortunately almost all of the outlets are in the room where the the lights are plugged in to(they are in the corner outside of the pic) but I made a water guard with panda tarp which will hopefully prevent anything getting wet in case there is a spill.

Mountain running H&G Coco A, B with Florolicious+ substituted for Algen extract, Multizyme, Roots Xl, Drip clean, Botan. Cal/Mag, Sm90, and Silica. Bud XL, Top Boost, and Koolbloom powder for flower.
Got a 1200 GPH pump. Probably going to do either 2 or 3 waterings a day at 1-2 minutes.
Have a separate room for veg, been going about 2 weeks+ since transplanted from dixie cups. Some were started in soil and switched to coco, those have been vegging for about a month but I have cut them down so everything is relatively the same size.
18000 BTU air con, 70pint dehuey, co2.

Made a post in another thread the other day about vertical loopfield manifolds needing control valves on each level so every plantsite gets equal juice distribution/pressure and flow.....

Good call on the electrical hazard Krunch......Bobbles used some lil inline choke valves on his drippers to control flow to each plantsite and I thought headees was doing the same thing or I`d said somethin bout head pressure to each level of plants.....anyways......

All setups get upgraded till dialed...........

Good luck....DHF....:ying:......

Thanks Hashcat, Im thinking the same thing.

DHF are you referring to the adjustable drip stakes when you say "inline choke valves", or is there some other pressure controller on Bobbles system?

The drip system seems to be working well so far, no leaks or hoses popping off yet lol. Havent put it on a timer yet though, still putting it through test runs. But the flow from the top sites to the bottom seems to be pretty even, at least it appears that way from just looking at them.
The one issue, which is a pretty huge issue, is getting all the plants to evenly dry out so they need the same amount of water at the same time. Im going around and spot watering by hand to get them all saturated evenly enough, then going to adjust the drippers rate of flow to suit each individual plant. Doubt I will ever have it totally perfect but I will try and get it as close as possible.

If that`s what Bobbles was using then yes , but choke/control valves are just that.....they control flow and pressure to each level of plants so the one`s at the top get the same as the one`s on the lower levels.....but.....Bobbles was usin em on each plantsite......my setup was way different....

You`ve got a gravity fed setup like blumats , as to where my shit was fed from a big ass 5200 gph pond pump in my rez`s with 13' of head pressure to push juice up to the top levels at 6' thereabouts and on each leavel I had 3/4" ball/control valves to "choke down" the flow on the lower levels to compensate for the upper levels getting proper flow and pressure to each plantsite......

Takes some dialin , but once figured out it`s set it and forget it.....but......Take this to the bank Bro......there`s not a more perfect setup for gravity fed plants than Blumats.......period.....especially with different varieties/strains that drink and metabolize differently on a daily basis.....

I`ve got a few hundred blumat "maxis" in storage I was about to implement into my setups before havin ta shutdown......believe me they`re worth the investment and time it takes to dial their asses in for PERFECT juice control to each plantsite.....bar none....

Deck and patio kits for smaller setups/containers , but Maxi`s ftw with bigger containers and plants.....bet on it.....

Good luck Bro.....DHF....:ying:.....

DHF has spoken!

2600 should have you straight, maybe even overkill but hey you can always take out the 600 later.

cool drip system! hope it works out, i will be doing a similar one soon but with only 18 plants, should be a bit easier :) bobble sure nailed it haha

where did you get the adjustable drippers?

DHF- I see. Ok well good to know Ive got all the t's crossed for a decently working drip system. Dialing it in is going to be the tricky part.

I was initially going to go with Blumats, spent months reading about them and taking notes, but after my last run shit the bed I was/am tight for cash, so had to go about the cheap way. Eventually I will get some though.

Schrews- Yea seems like DHF knows his stuff:plant grow:. Ive only got the 2k horti's burning now, will flip on the 600 MH after the stretch and see how it goes.
I got the stakes from Drip Depot, they've pretty much got everything for your dripping needs and decently priced as well.

50 watts per sq ft was my bare minimum for dialed results consistently run after run at separate locations for yearly rotations.....but that`s just me...

I ran krusty bucket rooms with 4-600`s in the corners wth a 1000 watt MH bulb in the middle for an "X" pattern runnin 4 plants in a 10 x 10 room in a "diamond" pattern so each plant got sideways lumens blasted at em from 3 lights at all times with only 34 watts per sq ft.......but.....

Krusty grew 3+lb plants......I never got more than 10 lb rooms from 4 plants but I did it regular for almost a decade till Heathie taught me more smaller plants were easier and would yield more in the long run usin flip rooms 12 hrs apart and a month or so difference in age for yearly averages.....

Many waysta skin a mule....But........Heath helped me more than Krusty ever did except for "perfect environment ".......Flip rooms are the most yearly productive setups there are for continuous production .....

Ya`ll handle it.....DHF.....:ying:

Should have made the sarcasm a little more obvious when I said that. School is in session over here believe me.

DHF vert flip rooms sound like the most efficient way to do things for sure, as long as you got things dialed like you said. Im still a ways off from that, but I will get there.

These AK's arent stretching like I hoped so looks like Im going to have some major gaps in the walls. Also seeing some cal mag deficiencies. Adding 3-4 ml per gallon of cal/mag, so im thinking Im locking it out somehow, or maybe they just need more. Maybe some epsom?

Other than that things are lookin alright, lol.
