rookie 400w lwrydr2/rdrunner cocogrow

hey icmag, i'm beginning my first odyssey here with coco. i have a 400w hid 5x4x2 tent grow for 2 going. i'm running roadrunner fem and lowryder2 (Jackie and Jazele). i was inspired by h3ads and AskEd to experiment with coco (mrs. Ed said plants like when you name em). remarkable how inexpensive the supplies were. i have GH nutes that were leftover from my very first hydro small dwc pythium mess which i just shut down after pains in the head and wallet. i'll be using the Lucas formula 6/9 regiment, and we'll see about koolbloom later. i'll put some pics up here so you guys can see what i got so far. sorry about the pic quality, my wife's pnoid and wont let me use the laptop so i'm figuring out how to do this with a ps3 browser. looking at cameras too so i'll refine everything as i go along. pleasure to have you here......

heres some basic pics for now. the mix is 75%coco 25% perlite. i have an inch of hydroton on the bottom of the buckets to improve drainage, prob didnt need it but did anyway. theres also 1 tbsp/gal of pelletized dolomite lime. this was 2 coir bricks each bucket.....


Ed's right, its fun to watch em expand. what a mess my bathroom was tho. should of seen mrs. meraxes face. well, she wont be complaining when her backpains gone lol

any pointers on making these pics bigger would be helpful. guess i have to screw around with it more.

i have 2 booster fans for ventilation which is pretty dumb of me since everyone said, " just open the wallet for an inline combo" so to all you guys thinking of just boosters with a small to med tent, listen to your brothers here. i tested and zipped it up b4 i got started and 98 degrees! i could probably tan Snookie in there. so now i'm leaving half the tent flap open like a stooge until my inline comes.

also floated, sunk, and put seeds 1/4 inch down directly into the bucket. hopefully we'll see some cotelydons poking out within a couple days. i was aprehensive to transplant from small cup to bucket. figure i'd put em home right away, hope thats fine, we'll see

sick set up mann your def going to harvest some nugs this time. So you going to get a inline combo?

yea you have to man with hid lights. you should see how hot the ballast gets and thats on the outside of the tent. i put it on a ceramic hot plate until i figure out something else, cant just put it on the rug

using HID/HPS causing more money because a inline fan is required but buds comes out with a better result, right?. I've been searching for HPS on every hydro shop but they says our country don't allows shipping HPS lights, what was why i couldn't find any deal on Ebay/amazon. anyway I am going to sleeppp, later Merx.

so a wiseman mentioned i should take my sprouts out of the buckets and put them into small containers for now. seems thats better and more manageable at this stage since i watered the 5 gal and my sprout went flying to the other side of the bucket. its more like a comedy show than a grow log so far. i'd be utterly demoralized if i dont get this to work after months of study and a pythium attack on the dwc. hardly researched at all before i bought that piece of shit, a caligrowkit. the rez was white and light got all up in that bitch and slimed it to the point i called the Ghostbusters. got a descent T5 with it though which will come in handy for a second mother or clone tent or cab. other wise those guys at caligrowkits are noob vultures. they said that they grew six 6 footers in that rez which is the size of a shoe box, in which case i would now assume it would spontaneously combust into fragments. but back to the grow at hand. more tomorrow.....

me too. but as long as you have right set up, should come out nice like everyone does. did you transplant them into 16oz cup or what?.

yes but i decided to put them in rockwool first, let em get leaves, then put them under the MH.....

the lowryder2 sprout looked funky green and yellow so i pulled it.

the 3 on the left are roadrunner fem, big bud reg, and wild thai. the 2 on the right are just bagseed. hopefully i get 2 girls here

yeah man, how many seeds do you have left?. I am thinking to order some more like 5 depends on my budget. Do you think I should start with in 16oz cup or sprout in an 1 gal bucket?. later man

i would start them in in the smaller cup but wait till theres a good taproot. i think i must of shocked them when transplanting into the rockwool from the 5 gal. should of waited for bigger taproots also. i've been trying to germinate the roadrunner since wedsday. the big bud and thai since friday night.
these are the last of my seeds so i ordered more from SSC. i didnt get fancy pantsy this time either, i got seeds that are the easiest for the beginner and short bushy ones. i got a 10 pack of skunk 44 which has high germ rate and simple as it gets. also i got white widow, and northern lights which is also easy. it came with 2 free ones again, pakistan ryder, and tumbolt 47 which is a fast AK47.
dont care how long these ones take to germ in the rockwool, i'm done fingerfking them

nope, just waiting for any of them to pop out of the rockwool. taking a long time but i'm afraid to touch them anymore. i'll keep them in there a week if it needs it

yeah i'm wondering if i should of just kept it in coco rather than moving them to rockwool. but the big bud and thai went into RW first so i moved those 2 less. also germed a couple of bagseed too because i'm so determined to get something ya know. i'm such a doosh....
