Roach more potent?

Here is one for you. A long time ago it was thought that the roach was the strongest part of a joint as it had resin build up. I never noticed that the roach was stronger, and just hitting a roach now I felt it might be weaker than the first part of the joint.

Any thoughts?

Just finished up with the roach and it sucked. I hear ya. But nothing is cooler than a badass roach clip.

I've never smoked just a roach so I couldn't tell you. By the time I get to the roach part I'm fairly well toasted so I wouldn't notice one way or the other.

Does anyone still eat their roaches?

Nowadays I almost always use water filtration but years ago I'd roll a joint out of roaches.
Not any more potent than the original doobies as I recall.

And very obviously (now), tar is not resin.

lol i have always figured, just like a bowl, the end of a roach has lost a lot of it's thc through vaporization, i mean after all you just spend 20 mins sucking very hot air through that roach to smoke the first chunk, how much could be left? i figure it's soaked in residue, and light on resin, so it tastes harsh and gives you that low ceiling, poopy, sleapy high you get from smoking residue... if i can't finish a bowl and i have like two hits left i don't bother to smoke it, because i have done that sober, and it doesn't get me very high, so why bother smoking some nasty resin soaked ash at the end of a roach? bleh

i find they stink like an old cigar in an ashtray, but chop em up and roll em and they'll kick your ass nicely :) lots of friends of mine keep a "roach motel". its hard to say but i think often they are a bit more potent.

Like Pavlov's dog, just "think roach" and salivate. Yum.

Honestly, only in a concert type setting where I'm staying put in what needs to be an evidence free zone. (but, salivating heavily before swallowing really does help. those things taste nasty.)

most of that "gunk" on the roach isn't really cannabis resin - it's tar.

hah yeah I would do the same, gotta do what you gotta do

when outside I find safe spots are next to a sewer or on a bridge/near a flowing river

so if the police come you just throw it in the sewer/down the river :)

sucks but it's better then going to the station

explicit content (a bit nasty)

this is a bit going out of the thread but I remembered a story I read in a book on some guy. The police found out he had eaten loads of little balls of hash,

so they put him in seclusion, in a place where he would shit it all (and couldn't flush)

so what he did is he shit it, and then ate it back again lol

well, smoking resin, usually gives you a "sorta high" for 15 minutes.

i guess you´d be adding that to your high, smoking the roach..

stonier smoke (resin often just makes you more tired) somewhat.

(cant say i enjoy resin smoke though)

IMO, the vape effect is what makes the first part so sweet. Rather than the lack of tar at the fire end, all the unburned weed behind it is vaping it's goodness. By the time it's a roach it's mostly toast. I still smoke em.

I googled 'roach more potent' or something like that and got just one article stating they were more potent in thc by around 16%. Supposedly by a Dr Hornby. I have trouble hitting the roach as I am afraid of burning my lips, might explain why I get less high from them?
