You two socialists should watch "Real Time with Bill Maher" This weeks episode (air date 10/15/11) had Penn Jillette come in towards the end and discuss his view of libertarianism. Mr. Jillette stated that in his view government force should only be used to protect a society from force (rape, murder, invasion, etc.) There should be no guns pointed at me or my neighbor in order to build a library for your spoiled ass or stupid kids.

Oh the horror of having guns pointed at me so you can have your 14.8 trillion dollars in national debt.

Glad to see I am just a slave to be worked for your projects, how about you guys supervise and tell me what wonderful social programs you'd like to see built on the backs of others.

:joint:

We have a volunteer. We'll get the socialist manifesto on video and prop your eyelids open (like Malcolm McDowell in Clockwork Orange.) Afterward, even the mere thought of socialist conspiracy rants will compel you to blow chunks.

And who do we attribute the following wisdom, Jillette or yourself?

There should be no guns pointed at me or my neighbor in order to build a library for your spoiled ass or stupid kids.
Me thinks your segway needs work.

Quick question. Where do purists get the idea the founding fathers were all purists of the same philosophy? Purists sometimes reference historic passage, albeit brief comment from single perspective.

Coop, myself (and probably Jillette) know our founding fathers were philosophically divided . Maybe there was one guy calling the rest of em 'government fuck pigs' but I doubt trolls were afforded much respect.:ying:

I always wondered why Jillette never struck me as an entertainer. He's not funny, laugh lines delivered via his silent friend. That he's slightly warped is the only interesting aspect. The Penn & Teller gag always reminded me of a social introvert setting up his controlled, alpha environment with a mute. :biglaugh:

Watch the HBO episode that aired last night. The library and guns pointed by tax men to pay for them were Mr. Jillette's, the emphasis of "Your spoiled ass or your stupid kids" was mine.

As for founding fathers I take them as they come, many were practical men able of political compromise, there is nothing pure about men that privilege remains the province of ideals.

I am sorry if my calling US government agents "FUCK PIGS" distracts from my point. My choice of words can be rough because the situation frustrates me to such a degree. When WAR is declared on people who I know and love, my anger goes up.

So I answered your question about my thought on the founding fathers. How about you answer this question:

Should we build a library at the point of guns? You think it is the best idea in the world and every fiber of your being says it is so, and in historic hind sight it probably is. However the strange community you find your self in absolutely refuses to contribute to a library. Perhaps their religion says there shall be only one book, or they are luddites, or they just refuse to associate with others for personal reasons.

Should you be able to command them to contribute at the point of a gun? And then should you populate the shelves of the library with your version of proper reading?

I agree that our military and police forces should be used for national defense and "to protect our society from force". What the fuck does that have to do with a fair tax code providing services to the citizens of the United States? Spoiled ass? Stupid kids? Funny you must really have me all figured out. You're grabbing at straws with your "Libertarian" rhetoric and name calling.

News flash haus, under the current system of giving more power to private industry and corporate hierarchy we are all slaves. Giving them more power will only further that.

Wanna talk about gun pointing (and yes I believe in gun rights)? Private armies hired by corporations to protect their interests will out gun even the most well armed "Patriot" out there.

I used the Library as an example of a publicly funded institution that benefits all Americans. We agree on many points, however when it comes to public money being used to benefit society, where is the problem? Health care is another good example. The current course we are on will ensure that only the super rich/elite will be able to afford health care. So here is a specific question; your wife/husband or child is seriously ill, you cannot afford the procedures to help them. Should they just be left to die?

I guess it comes down to your version of fair is pointing a gun at anyone you want in order to have the great social programs you want, and my version of fair has no guns, unless an individual is violent first.

I assume you are saying that by being forced to pay taxes for things that you don't necessarily agree with is in essence being held at gunpoint?
Not everyone will agree on what types of things the gov should have their hands in, I certainly have different views than a lot folks. But I think the idea is that as a society we have a general consensus of what things are important to us as citizens. Education and health care being some of the most widely agreed upon issues.
For the last 10 years we (the treasury) has lost 72 billion a year on the G Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. The pointless corporate wars have cost us god knows how many billions/trillions. My view is that we cannot keep funneling money and power to the top 1%. They do not have anyone's best interest at heart. The Government has been willingly complicit in this, and it's time for a revolution to replace the corrupt officials with true representatives of the people. But dismantling controls on the 1% and giving them free reign will only compound the situation.

I hear your pain, but ask you to consider your position of oppression over the minority. We had a consensus that blacks were 3/5ths. We had a consensus that women couldn't vote. We had a consensus that gays should be in cages.

We HAVE a consensus that cannabis users and cultivators should be in cages!

That is the system and the consensus. I don't say it is your's but it certainly isn't mine AND makes me very leery of any consensus / majority.

how refreshing

We're not talking Ivory 99% purity. We're talking purist, the single, indelible and uncompromising mindset.

LOL. Purists answering their own questions. That's why the box is so small.

Perhaps your intellect suggests there shall only be one view.

I guess I would argue that THEY had the consensus for us. People make a shit ton of money off of discrimination, and putting us in cages. The people in wealth and power are the ones who forced the consensus on us through their corrupt influence. The reason those practices ended was because the public fought back, i.e. civil rights movement.

we surely dont trust the business owners to do the right thing.

we should take the lions share of their monies and let the government use it to help with social programs designed to uplift the average American.

i know the government representatives can't be bought off or corrupted in any way to spend the new revenues in anything less than the most efficient and beneficial manner possible.

with the new revenues taken from those evil rich people the(beyond reproach)federal government can make the entire country healthy, happy and well educated!

Nope a slave unaccepting of abuse but with no way to fight back.

Then why would somebody point a gun at you? Is your analogy a negro slave or are you a philosophical slave in reality?

I previously posted I didn't see Mahar. Cut to the chase already.

Because I have money and labor, why else would someone expolite another human?

To what links will you go if I refuse to comply. That is the chase. When will you use the gun and the cage? Even if I am a free rider, the biggest library user in the world. When will you shoot or cage me to build the library? I refuse to pay. I admit I have money and labor but I would rather tell you to fuck off.

The chase is will you fuck off or shot me?

Alright, lets see what we got. You're not armed so I wouldn't shot you. Maybe there's enough room for you to pontificate and a library too.:) Might I ignore? Such is life.
