Tips for growing "popsicles"

Hey guys, I've been growing in a small hydro cab for a while now, and my original intentions involved more plants than I can seem to fit in there. Im currently LSTing them because of the vigorous growth, but I'd really like to have more of a SOG garden.

Im experienced with training techniques like supercropping and pruning. I'd just like to know if anyone could give me pointers on how to train my girls to grow in one large cola? My side branches all reach out so far, seemingly no matter what the strain is.

I know some of it comes down to genetics, but is there any way I can help those branches stay tucked in close to my main cola? I'll give more info on my setup if anyone thinks its necessary. Thanks

not the best to help with this since i suck at lst and usually dont bother since i have the room.

but i notice anytime i use hps all throughout the inner nodes seem to lag behind. they wont branch out as far. now if i veg with flouros, cfls or MH and then switch HPS during flowering, they tend to grow more from the inner nodes instead, growing very bushy.

just a small observation that might be helpful if you switch lights. just a thought though, could be another factor for all i know but its something that happens to me every time.

i was also under the impression it is mainly genetic and many times ruderalis based or in some peoples cases like Crush, he would trim his plants so badly that there was nothing left but 1 main stick cola, i wouldnt recommend that.

sorry couldnt be of more help. maybe a master of popsicling any strain will chime in.

I grow from very small clones, usually ~3". As soon as roots show from the 2" netpots, I put them into 12/12 under a 150w hps, they have about 20" of growing room. I havent read Crush's grows, but to be honest, I could live with trimming all but one big cola if its possible on a non ruderalis. If 2 of them can give me 20 grams, that'd be all I need. Im running a perpetual system, and to get the max potential out of it, I'd like to run 4 pots at a time. If I can keep the girls from hanging over the edges too far, it would be easy

something like this? ---> http://www.flashpaint.com/sketchit.php?id=13847

whit this prune you will lose lower bramches which the lamp dont reach so good & produces little bds, but gain more bud growth on the principal & taller branches & when you water the food will come down. also make shure to sratch the stem where the little branches where to make shure that some powerful root came out from the branches. if you didnt understand me, just ask man!.
here is an example of that technique applyed to a satori from mandala seeds

Careful with that. Heavy dense buds will promote mold with no airflow through them.

Stay Safe!
