it looks like many state attorney generals are pushing to ban Big Sky/Western Sky from doing business in their states. Like 6 states have already outlawed it. The time to act is now if you want free money. It's the American way.

looks like the max they loan now is $2,500...with fees and interest the total you're supposed to pay back is $13,000.

it's run by a Native American...he's like not subject to US law or something. I checked it out, if you take out a loan of like 500, you have to pay them back like 2000. The max loan they do is $5,000...and I'd assume you'd have to pay back like 15,000. It's really messed up. I think you have to give them a bank account number and some other shit...what I would do is open an account different from the one you normally use, and have them deposit the money in that, then take the money out, and never talk to Western SKy again. Use a bogus mailing address, since the cash goes right to your bank account. USe a throwaay trac phone for contact phone number. I might do this...take out a loan for like $3,000...

how would that not work?
a) use a bogus mailing address
b) use a tracphone for contact number
c) have the money deposited into a new account
d) take out the money
e) throw away the tracphone, or just turn it off
f) end of story

They will try to freeze your account possibly, but it will be an account that is useless and created solely for the deposit from Western Sky.
They will try to call you, but remember, you used a tracphone for contact number
You gave them a bogus address - they will not come to your door

Just like maxing out a new credit card and never paying anything off, all they will do is write you letters for collection and call you. But you gave them bogus info for both, so you will not be bothered.

Out of the dozen or so credit cards I have maxed out and never paid up on, not once was I brought to court. They just write it off.

I'm opening an account with a different bank this week and calling up Western Sky to make this happen. Thanks for the reminder.

I've been looking for an investor for a short term loan of 2500 with 40% and one balloon payment at the end. To no avail. I thought 40% was high, but 215% will never be an option.

beats me...would have to be in a REAL tight situation to actually agree to paying $13,000 on a $2,500 loan. Maybe an emergency mortgage payment or something like that, if there's no money in the bank and the husband and wife are both suddenly disabled or something.
I bet more than 50% of the people who get loans from Western Sky just default on it and never pay them a dime. Then the 10% of people who actually pay Western SKy back the loan plus the $8,000 in interest makes up for the people who default/don't pay. That's how they make their money. And by selling the debt to other loan agencies. Fuck it, their a scam so why not go and scam them? And you wouldn't actually be scamming them, you'd just be defaulting on a loan...a loan which is not considered legal in like half of the united states. Many posts about Western Sky I found today complained about being harassed by 2nd parties who bought someone's loan debt from Big Sky...the main response was "the loan isn't even legal and they can't take you to court, so don't worry about it."
