How long can you leave home?

Just curious. :)

How long can you leave your system with zero outside maintenance before you are forced to work on it?

I am usually out of town for a 10-day stretch every month. Blumats and a self-topping reservoir usually to a good job, but I came home to a disaster a couple of months ago.

A few days at the most but I have to do some proper prior planning before I can do so. My biggest hold up is that I grow perpetual and it's not always easy to get everything squared away. My next round I'm actually changing it up and going with one large harvest to help with this very problem.

My system is designed for biweekly maintenance. I can go for three weeks if needed.

You guys who can go 2 weeks: are you running multiple reservoirs linked together with either pumps or siphon tubes?

He's referring to I believe a float valve. And yes they are a wonderful thing. Intellidose + burner = 1 week away with absolutely no worries whatsoever.

By burner you mean propane burner for CO2?

Yeah, a timer, float valve and extra reservoirs and you can keep a grow going for awhile.

The real limiting factor for me is how stable I can keep my nutrient solution.

so what do you use a 1 part nute in the doser? yeah i already have plans to buy the bluelab dosetronic controller in the future and as of now the only thing i need to figure out is the top off system

i was gonna go buy the toter 96 gallon trash can for an extra source of water and a float valve. other than that what other things do i need to buy to make this work? i have 2 70 gal reservoirs that need topping off so i figured i would run 2 hoses from the toter
