NORTH BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa., Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Police in Pennsylvania are investigating the case of a stolen bridge, presumably dismantled to be sold as scrap metal.

The North Beaver Township bridge, made of corrugated steel and valued at about $100,000, was stolen sometime between Sept. 27 and Wednesday, the Ellwood City (Pa.) Ledger reported Thursday.

The 50-foot-long, 20-foot-wide bridge was near a railroad line in a wooded area not owned by the township. Its owner's name was not released.

Police say the thief or thieves used a cutting torch to take the bridge apart.

I once heard a story of a guy who was owed a buncha money, and was upset.

So he went to the debtors house at 3 AM with rented van and an oxy-actylene torch and cut the guys Porsche into pieces and brought it home.

That's extreme....but a fucking BRIDGE???!!!

Theres no drain covers left round here, they'll take anything, 20 feet of iron railings went in the night on a road near here last year. Ive lost count of how many times the minster has had the lead nicked off the roof. There are even brazen scrap thieves who go round every day driving around looking for metal items in peoples yards/gardens. I only just stopped em taking my neighbours bike this summer, and last year the cheeky bastards had my uncles little junk-hauling trailer hitched up to their van-another minute, and they'd have been gone. War memorial plaques, plaques in the crematorium garden of rememberance--they dont give a fuck.
