sensory deprivation and our mind

Any one ever try going in a sensory deprivation tank? If you follow Joe Rogan he's a frequent user of these. He uses it as a tool to develop his mind and reflect on the right and wrong in his life. I'm still doing a little research on these so my knowldge is sketchy. These tanks are used for relaxation purposes, self improvement, accelerated learning, stress relief, meditation and enlightment.

The purpose is to relax all of the regular senses and send the mind back to a relaxed state...in touch with everything in between. It is filled with 10in of water and 800lbs of epsom salts forcing your body to float and lose the sense of gravity, the temp of the water is 98.7ish I believe, which is relaxed body temp and the tank is completely dark.

Once inside the point is to achieve total body/mind relaxation sometimes causing a loss of consciousness or out of body experience, the brain reaching a theta state. Some have even expirienced hallucinations and have compared it to trippin' on LSD or the less known, body producing DMT drug .(which open up your third eye) I've read a couple of 'testimonials' on several websites and some achieve this some don't. But all agree that it is one of the best experiences they've gone through.

I got a couple days off in 2 weeks and a spa in my area has them. I'm gonna try it for myself and see what kind of goodness this is lol. I hope I made sense to you guys and I'm not sounding crazy..Anyone ever try it?

a friend told me that the chinese had a "league" of special children

children that had been kept at minimal light and through numerous other training

psychic children

my friend then told me that these children are connected with us and that they are helping the world in these crucial times

I do not have a stand on this :)

but it made me think of sensory deprivation

and I believe that we could really develop stuff spending more time in the dark

we're constantly under fluoros and other shit

yeah i tried isolation tanks. its awesome. i came out super relaxed, with a big grin and could hardly feel my body. i had no visions of any kind tho. the guy who ran the place told me visions are very uncommon for first time users but can happen.

if i had a couple grands too much i would buy one of these badboys for my home. i think its really awesome if you could use them every day. i hear tiger woods has one and uses it to visualize his best golf swings. wayne rooney has one too and swears on it for his knee rehab.

Just be careful you don't de-evolve into a proto-human while you're in there. ;)

If you've never seen the 1980 film Altered States, then do yourself a favour -- get nicely baked, put the movie on and prepare for a wild ride via hallucinatory drug fueled sensory deprivation tank trips:

I googled altered states, sounds interesting, I don't wanna freak myself out so ill watch it afterwards lol..I can't help but think about the movie inception either. Its kind of lucid dreaming if you think about it. I really can't wait to do this, I feel like my mind and body needed.

Here's a quick utube of Joe Rogan talking about it.

i havent gone back yet, i still have a coupon for 2 sessions because i bought a 3-sessions-promo deal. i would love to do it every day or regularly like once a week but it is too expensive for me.
and i would REALLY like to get in one tripping balls on shrooms/acid like john lilly did that must be awesome. but its not really an option ina public wellness place where you can only stay for like an hour.

I have the same promo deal in my area, for about $100..if I liked it I was definetely gonna jump on that. Maybe a hit of some kill as shit would be better, just to relax. Maybe a shroom trip would be too much.
