Harvesting?

I had to cut my beautiful sunshine 2 ladies today. Storm hit today with cold winds and rains and knocked them down. So I cut them 2-3 weeks too early. Its too late now but I was wondering could I have place them in buckets of water with some anti-shock floral preservative like you would with a Xmas tree or a vase of flowers and keep them alive for another week? Here they were this weekend the three monsters were 10' tall.

There's only one way to know, isn't there? I've done it with cuttings and other pieces I wasn't ready to deal with immediately, and it works to a good degree if you're careful about keeping them cool, etcetera.

Do you have any other choice? Do it and report back, that would be a pretty useful alternative when there's no other option aside from cutting

I think those preservatives are basically a simple sugar + salycilic acid. I've used a combination of table sugar + 1/2 an aspirin to help cut flowers keep longer. Or, just making sure you change the water daily can also go a long way toward preserving them.

I've kept cuttings of cannabis alive in the fridge for two and three weeks at a time by simply putting a little water in a cup or the bottom of a bag and sticking the ends in it.

Okay I am going for it. I don't know if they had been cut too long for this to work over 24 hours but what the hell. I made my own water, corn syrup, vinegar and a small amount of bleach. I have an air stone going. I also cut several inches off the bottom of their trunks. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Have an update. It was too late for all but one plant. The one girl has perked up nicely so this will definitely work in the future.
