I have a really great idea that i have never before seen done on here, so i would like you lighting experts' opinion! Im constructing a new mother/clone cabinet, so the lights dont have to be super strong. using the window in my closet (its a big closet) to supply solar light, my idea is to construct an enclosed stealth cabinet wrapped internally with mylar, powered by soda bottles filled with purified water and a dilute bleach solution (to prevent algae growth). The idea is that the water will refract the light provided by the sun via the window. Before you shoot my idea down, take a look at this video that inspired the idea....its INCREDIBLE and short! after watching this video, coupled with mylar, do you all think this idea will be success with sustaining the life of my mothers and clones? Pros/cons and general opinions? Basically the water magnifies and refracts the light into the cabinet and the mylar provides further refraction with in the unit, producing a cabinet both off the grid and free of any energy bills!
Heres the video demonstrating the power of these "solar bottle lights": http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=1787036814819

Looking forward to your responses...im curious how well these would do in flowering as well, other than the obvious light proofing prob. for the 12 hours off.

no need for lightproofing a mother cab. What you might need would be supplemental lighting in the fall/winter.

wow! that's a cool idea. You should certainly give it a go....there is no reason at all that wouldn't work. As Fattie stated, you probably would need supplemental lighting in the cooler months. Thanks for posting the video too.
