What's new

plastic tarps?

I put plastic tarps on my plants last night.
It prevented 75% of the water penetration.

Some buds touch the plastic, but I can harvest those soon.

There is some steam and swetting on the tarps but its got great air flow and I took them off for 5 hours last night and again this AM,

Assuming im safe from mold? I mean its better then keeping them wet for 4 days yes? I mean slightley steemey is better then soaking wet?

Deal is they now dry out way faster then just drenced yes?

Any thoughts? I get the plastic off every time their is a break in the rain, but keep them covered all night.

*IM 4 days to harvest the tops*

ALso Im rack drying and breaking every bud off the stem to prevent any gray mold.

Will I be ok? I know steam inside a plastic tarp but the water on the fence is still there and the plant appears dry other then the coala tips that touch plastic (Colas being taken down I hope in 2 days)

USE FANS to keep g00d air flow.....while under the tarps....
and try to prop them up as much as possible w. support pieces... as to not touch the buds....but fans are gonna help

No fans, no power.. I kept the bottom half uncovered and the wind was what I can call "Positive wind flow"

I bend open the top colas just now and they are ok.
I can take the colas any time any way if I detect the slightest graying.

just wondering, wouldn't any mechanical manipulation, shaking, leaf blowing, hair dryer just push the water & more importantly mold spore deeper into the bud? I've found that a high dew point can be just as dangerous as rainfall.

Im not sure to be truthful , sutra , but I can tell you my first reaction to rain on my plants is to try to shake it off. Not sure how a leaf blower would do actually but it does seem it could get some of the water off. Would def keep my distance.

If you know the rain is coming, put off watering your plants a day if reasonable. Makes me think that they will suck up that interior moisture much better. Use a leaf blower and shaking to get rid of the exterior moisture.
