GDP Haze - Test Grow

Day 62:

Random FYI, plants are being numbered as how they sit in the tent:
1 2 3
4 5 6

Found a bolus of bud rot up inside one of #5's top buds. It was looking real nice until I noticed the funky leaves with the tell tail signs of something nasty inside. Had to clip about 4 inches off and was able to save a couple nugs and a centimeter of the very tip. I've had this problem a couple times now so I think I need to figure out how to best control humidity in a tent that is in a non-sealed room.

Everything looks nice, Day 63 pics coming up shortly...

This is a tester bud taken from plant number 1 at 70 days (she is much farther along than the rest).

It smokes quite well for 70 days. Can't comment too much on the flavor yet, as the nug was cured like a day or two, but it's an oily apple explosion for sure.

Had a couple small patches of Botrytis on plants number 2, 3, and 5. Didn't lose too much from what I had to chop (1-2 inches from like 4 buds), but it's definitely something I need to address next round.

More pics coming soon... :tiphat:

Hey KushBuddha,

These girls stretch a ton! A lot of stems had to be bent to keep them under threshold. The hazier phenotypes would have easily grown to 6ft, maybe more.

Pheno 1: Smaller dense buds with thin noodle-like stems. Turns purple with no A/C. Finishes in 70-80 days easy.
Pheno 2: Large dense foxtail buds that stretch a lot and finish around 80 days.
Pheno 3: Lots of stretch with strong branches and huge foxtail bud growth. Most hairs are still white at ~70 days.
Pheno 4: Strong branches, rock hard golf ball nugs that spiral up the stem. Finishes around 75-80 days. Some purpling.

I'm smelling lots of apple/grape scents with skunk undertones and a zing that tingles up the nose.

Words to describe the scent and flavor of GDP Haze:

Citrus (haze leaning phenos)
grape (gdp leaning)
apple
pine
skunk

An extensive smoke report with pictures is forthcoming, but overall, she is a STRONG, long lasting smoke that'll calm your nerves and leave your head warm n fuzzy.

Damn those buds look frosty, such a superb job you did with them.....a great example to anyone wanting to do a test grow, thanks for making the effort and doing such a good job. Does she smoke as good as she looks?

Thanks Truecannabliss!

This GDP Haze is an incredible smoke! Tastes just like you'd expect, GDP with a swirl of Haze. The potency level tho, is much stronger than any GDP I've had. I find myself getting stuck, forgetting I have a half bag full of vapor...off of almost half of what I'd normally take. Several other puff testers have all claimed the same.

The high is robust. She has a strong body stone with a big hazy head. Both elements are well pronounced and long-lasting.

Got #4 to reveg (pics soon), I'll definitely be running GDP Haze again!

holy sh*t bro! awesome job

I have some grandaddy haze's on the go right meow. seeing you bud shots made me very excited. I'm a big stickler on taste and it sounds like this will be right up my alley.

did you judge you gdp pheno by the size of the leaves?

Hey Chief! Thanks for stopping by!

I judged the GDP phenos by leaf size, stretch, bud structure, and smell. The GDP phenos stretched a bit less, buds filled in faster, and had more sweet flavors than the hazes. The haze leaning phenos still taste great, just have more earthy chocolate and citrus flavors. Like Woolybear just posted, I am noticing some mint undertones coming out with the cure.

The haze phenos had longer colas and took an extra week or so to fill out.

The keeper that I revegged, #4, leans to the GDP side but packs quite more of a punch than the GDP clone due to the haze influence. She finished second and is packed with flavor. Each time I puff the pheno, I just let the vapor roll off my tongue for half a minute or so. Mmm.
