GS thanks for stopping by and taking a look. I ended up going with T5s for veg table. And plan to veg for a week to 10 days under the HPS at 18 hours in the flower room just to give them that HID kick. Take a peak at the work below.

Hey everyone, I have been creeping and lurking on here. Just haven't posted anything up as you can see I have been busy building trying to get this show on the road.

Few things changed in the current scheme of things.

Going to be running a 24k mini split into flower room. With this added cooling I can go a head and run the bulbs under Adjusta wings rather than ducted hoods.

As stated above will be running (2) 1ks under adjusta wings reflectors due to the higher intensity.

176 pint Quest RDS 22 Dehumidy. Can never have to much.

these are the main things that are going to effect me the most.

Here are some current pics of the veg set up (the room I flowered in my last run with the UC4XL)

Here is the framing, running electrical and quick and dirty dry wall shots. Also take note of my 2x4 contraption that allows you to hang dry wall by your self, like a BOSS.

A comment on my experience with T5, MH, HPS, etc.
Nobody has mentioned frequency, just watts.

864 watts of T5 for veg on and 4' x 8' table. It sucked.
768 watts of T8 for veg on the same table and they rock!

Does this mean the T8's kick ass over the T5's? Not even, the T5's were hydro 6400K grow lights. The T8's were 5000K, 86 CRI showroom lights.
Lumens per square inch of the correct frequency, where that light comes from matters not to the plant.
We care 'cause we pay for it and get rid of the heat, but the plant only cares how much of what frequency.

The designation "T5" needs a frequency listed. I use 420 nm actinic light from a T5 in my test room. I am sure a bank of these would kill any young plant put in close contact.
3000K growlights should have made spindly plants. 6000K+ lights for veg that come with the various fixtures? I'm not sure why the manufacturing people have plants that need so little red when babies. MH has more red than these.
My plants just don't work well with blue hued lights, they all need more red. I used to think it was the strain I use, could be part of it but all I read shows the clones and vegs using more red than the light builders think they use. Note the above T5 & T8 veg growth difference. I had used T8's at 6500K previously and blamed the poor results on the T8 output, it was the frequency not the fixture, the lights grow the plants fine at 5000K. I tried 4100K also, not enough root with the leaf.

HS: Trying to get things moving. When the flower room is empty makes you work a lot faster. Mudded the joints and holes today going to pipe in the the NG cO2 generator tm. Still waiting for this ductless split that is on back order. Should be here soon.

Phaeton: I have had no problem with T5s. Although if you read any of the posts before I went a head and purchased T5 fixtures from LA lighting 6 bulb 4' for 175.00 w/o bulbs isn't bad. Paid 8 dollars a bulb for GE 4' 52w 6500k. So we will see how those do vs. the 20 dollar hydro shop ones. All in all saved boat loads of money. Will let you know if it is worth it.

NIce set up. I have found over the years I can produce way more rooted cuttings in a small veg area than the flower rooms can keep up with. Great craftsmanship on everything!

Damn good work stussy! I'm impressed with all the piping and such, very professional. This room is going to kick ass.. It already is, but even more so when it's finished :smokeit:

This is gonna be pro for sure, Great start looks like you got a plan and executing perfectly! I'm happy to see more and more people using the reflectix insulation for lining the interior walls of their growrooms.

It's crazy how shit get's around. Years ago when I built my first room and lined it with reflectix no one used the stuff. Years later, now it's gaining popularity. Hydroponics shops stock it and much much more.

I love the thread/build. except that fresh air intake or exhaust. Seal that fucker up!
Also there appears to be a sligt argument concerning MH vs T5's. I will look for my kings Kush Moms pics that I vegged under 64w of 6400k CFL's. in 3 weeks I pulled over 140 cuts off just 2 moms. MH is a fucking old wives tale that retailers have been pushing to the spoon fed for far too long to make an extra buck. Bulb co's will put out anything to entice newbs with this "new World technology" it is mostly bullshit. The bulbs I now use have enough radium in them to produce enough blues and purples to enhance trich production without sacrificing yield. these bulbs are also push over 10k more lumens (of the correct lux/nm so nothing is wasted. I would rather veg with an HPS over an MH any day of the week. in the book I'm writing, MH stands for "Minimal Harvest". the only place an MH bulb is useful is in a parking lot or stadium. I don't want to hear about that UVA/B trich BS either! you "might" get more trichs at the exchange of half the yield. I have a 7' mom under a 125CFL and it is rocking. I'm sure I could pull upwards of 500 cuts off her. less is more.

Hey thanks for the kind words everyone. I haven' been posting but i have been trolling a lot.

toohighmf that intake and exhaust was going to be for the MH in a hood. Ended up going with the T5s. Bought the lighting fixtures from an electrical supply house for 140. Bulbs cost me 8 each vs 25 at the hydro store. Ended up costing me a little less than 600 for (3) 4' 6 light fixtures.

Here is the finished Veg setup.

Hey nice to see people still interested in what I am doing it means a lot. I just got back in from a much needed vacation from Switzerland. Was great trip got to relax and see a lot of the country and meet some family I have never met. The icing on the cake was one of my family members has a few tents and a nice size Opt he runs. He grows a strain called ICE that he got from seed. It is a great smoke, not a couch locker or head in the clouds, was a nice blend of everything.

Back to MY build out I Plan to cut some clones next week. The apprentice did a decent job covering for me making sure the moms were doing well. Just want to make sure they are a 100% before taking cuts.

I will get some pictures of the flower room up tomorrow as I near completion of it.

Wishing everyone the best

Excellent build thread. Picked up many good points.

I would rather veg with an HPS over an MH any day of the week.
Interesting. So you don't feel that much blue is needed. Much ado about blue.

Right along side this is whether to include some blue when flowering. "too keep plants shorter and more resin" Not sure there's any truth / data to that

UPDATE!!!!!

UPDATE!!!!!

First off thanks for all the kind words and sorry I haven't gotten around to and update. Got back from a much needed vacation 3 weeks ago.

Here is the flower room waiting for for the young ones to get over. Sorry for the shitty pics off cell phone.

pic 1/2: Table is 20" off of ground 3 gallon smart pots. (3) 1000W adjustawing hoods.

pic 3/4/5: Irrigation system 3/4 valves running 16 sprayers per valve. Can control valves in 3 second intervals. Below timer is contractor assembly I made to turn the pump on when sprinklers come on.

pic 6: Quest RDS 22 Deumidy 176 pints per day with Merv 14 filter (SUPER clean).

check out the new Grow journal here. Thanks to everyone that put their :2cents: in towards helping me get this thing going.
