ok guys I am setting up a new grow, i want to do a Marlo vert scrogg using his pvs frame idea. i will be using 3 1000 w hps, 4 plants squared around each light, bare bulbs. my problem is that i have always used a big swamp cooler in my stadium grows pumping in vass amounts of cool fresh air, this location wont permit that option, I have a 10ft x 18ft area for the whole set up, flower, veg and clones, this has to be smell proof to the max so how am i going to be able to cool the flower room with the bare bulbs and smell proof it all ?

I'm not exp with these bigger systems, but i keep hearing DHF reccomend breaking them down into gangs of easier to control smaller rooms. Maybe frame in 3 separate 1k flower rooms with their own air handling/filtration systems blowing into a common veg/clone area used as a climate controled lung room? I could be all washed up on this. Had the idea, thought i'd share it. Maybe someone make something outta it.

You could still use your heat exchanger and add a reservoir and a water chiller... That's what I do. You just have to vent the chiller. I send the heat to the attic. Otherwise sounds like u need 16k btu in ac...

ok bobble explain to me (im slow ) do i run the 16000 btu a/c right into flower room with the 2 8in exaust fans sucking it back out ? I would like to be able to use the exausted air to help cool the veg room if possible

Have you thought about a lung room bro?

thats probably what i will do H G O. i have a 10 x 8 tent that i can use for flower or veg but either way i still have to cool the 3 1000 bare bulbs, if i used sealed hoods or cool tubes it wouldent be a problem but i want to do it vert with bare bulbs.

I hear ya joesy, remember the basic rule, Floor Fan>Bulb>Extraction, a light breeze from your floor fan pointed at your bulb and a good extraction above each bulb will help tenfold, the AC air coming through your intake, extract as much air as possible and keep as much equipment out of the room to knock down a few degree. What strains are ya working with? I can't wait to see your setup, I've been thinking about running Marlo screens too, lots of work but worth it in the end.

DHF told me about he had redundent ac's... Cooling his rooms, and the lung rooms with all the equipment... B/c overkill is underrated. You can do like HGO suggested and have the ac come in on the intake, but personally I would put it on the wall, and only have it run (inside the room) as needed. Set the ac to kick on at 78F... Air exchange 2x a minute 24/7, humidity controlled on the intake.

Cool the veg separately. It's a fucking headache to combine the two, along with possibility of pathogens spreading between rooms...

what I like about using cold water... U just put a radiator in each room, and keep 1 main reservoir chilled...

first of all thanks for all the help, I will be running chem d and grape rom on this run and maybe 1 or 2 sour dubb, the screens will be 3ft 6in wide and 5ft high so the flower room will have to be big enough for 3 of these squares maybe 4 if i can control the heat so were looking at least 8 ft x 8ft, probably 9ft x 10 so i have a little room to water

Im still thinking of trying one of those cool box heat exchangers on one of the exaust fans from the flower room to cool the veg room, hate the thought of another a/c for the veg but it might be the best way, what you all think ?

Cut corners now, pay for it later. If I have the money, I throw it at the problem. That way I can keep my money and hopefully have more of it in the future...

If it's worth doing, it's woth doing right. Sorry for the cliché. That sounds good Joesy, I was going to build the Marlo Screens© for my V2 but that has been called off to the new year, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with them.

the chem d and the grom both stretch good so i think they will do well, i have got 9oz and 8 oz off both of them in a horiz scrogg before so im hoping to get that and more, we will see, hope i dont regret not going with the tried and true stadium, Marlo really impressed me with that 400 watt bulb and his vert screens. i will try and get pic's as i build the rooms, i havent posted any pic's in years so i guess its time.

Joesy.....Overkill`s underrated......Go over above and beyond the call of duty and equipment doesn`t haveta work as hard and lasts longer before needing replaced.......simple...babyshit......

Holler if I can help.......Bobble`s the wealth of info though.......

good luck with the screens you didnt say how tall the room was ,have you considered fewer and larger trees ?

DHF

Make your flower room 8 x 10 for 4-1000`s side by side for minimum 50 watts per sq ft with a stadium and put plants on both ends for increased yields with more plants........but...

Yas gotta take , root , and maintain buncha cuts to feed the beast if yas use plants on the floor and 3 levels up the walls to utilize every sq/cu ft of wall and floor space.......

You`ll need 4000 btu`s of cooling per 1 KW so 16000`s the bare minimum and that`s what I meant bout overkill on equipment....and after environment.....

You`re only as good as your clone/pre-veg production on increased plant number setups like stadiums.....but........

I usedta take cuts off preveg/post flip plants in the cleanin out/pruning process , but I did way more than what was needed so I could pick the best of the best 64 and have a stable canopy from handpicked/sized clones.....

Mom plants aren`t needed if you`re confident on your clone/cut production skills......Anyways.......

Good luck.....DHF.....:ying:......
