It's not a big deal at all. It's just the 18min that's a bit strange to me.

No matter what i change my timezone, dst, etc. to my time stamp is always 2 hrs and 18min slow. My last post was at 7:26am here and it comes up as 5:08am.

ICMag making me do math and shit at 7am.

I agree, you would think we could get halfway close to the correct time on minutes at least

The clock has slowly gotten off over the last 5 years and it takes way too much time to adjust. That is my understanding of it at least.

I have mine set to PST (with auto-detect DST) and it's not one hour off, it's two hours + however many minutes. All time zones are set by hours, not minutes, yes?

the server is in Holland so its 1 hr off GMT to start with, its also not set to pick up summer / winter time changes (1hr) and yes over the years it has lost time so that explains why the clock is off
it will be sorted when we do a major update but that means taking IC off line and reconfiguring the server
and other issues meaning a lot of downtime which normally sends panic through our members or causes withdrawal symptoms

^^^^^^

I was a Network engineer in another life. I dealt with servers in multiple countries and time zones and this was pretty common. As an example, if the CMOS battery croaks in a server and it goes though an unscheduled reboot, it could suddenly read Jan 1 1988 or some other wacko time. Getting a new email dated several years in the past is pretty weird, but it's a lot more common that you might think. Computers aren't smart, they only follow the instructions they are given.
