I do alot of clones here , i supply clones for at least 5 growers . ( I like doin it :) ) but the rhizo is getting expensive @ $60 a bottle . would like to hear about some cheap alternatives for root growth additives ., been doin alot of research on them but there's so friggin many its hard to know what works . also i'm cloning in coco on some & vermiculite in the walmart cloner on others so . clones are then vegged in coco or promix .

thanx guys .... the experience the growers have here is amazing :)

I've never used this, but it sounds similar to Rhizotonic and is much cheaper:

Info suggests it as an alternative to hormone base (IBA) root stimulator.. and looks to be backed by some real data. The same company makes Companion Biofungicide, a beneficial bacteria (Bacillus Subtillis), which I know works very well as an alternative to Botanicare Aquashield to protect roots from pythium and other pathogens. It is quite concentrated, requiring only 1 mL/gallon in hydroponic recirculating setup.

i use roots excel right now (H&G.. 1mL/gal)

had success with bio roots as well but

imo roots excelurator from house and garden is the best.. its a tad expensive,, (~$70.00) for the 250mL but at only 1.1 mL per gallon it lasts a good while

budzad ... maxicrop is one i've been looking at . so your using the liquid seeweed ... have you tried others like rhizo & how do they compare ? i've noticed that if i concentrate on the roots during veg & the first 2 weeks into flowering the plants stay much healthier & grow like weeds . might have to see if my hydro store carries the maxi & the roots excel .

I've used the green label Thrive Alive(b1) with age old kelp over the years with GREAT success. Seems pretty cheap to me. Seed mats and a few little tricks learned over the years has me at about 90 percent success rate. Practice makes perfect. Environment and technique are more important than products when it comes to good clone success.

I use and love Maxicrop. I'm sure others would be interested to know how you mix and apply it for rooting purposes.

Are you using it as a foliar feed or applying to the rooting medium?

What ratio are you mixing?

Last time I went to the grow shop I asked about the Roots Excellurator. The guy showed it to me, but told me that he had some GH Rapidstart his rep suggested was very similar.

All I can say, it works great for me! I've never seen so many roots come out of a rapid rooter. Its about half the price of the Roots Excellurator though, maybe even less, and still 1 ml/gal.

I was given samples of roots excelurator at a hydro expo and have been hooked on the stuff since. It's very concentrated and I have seen such healthy root systems with it.

thanx for your input dude . i really don't have problems cloning though , i just see how the roots exploded during veg with the rhizo & how much healthier my plants have been sense i started concentrating on the root zone instead of just giving them veg nutes . am just basicly trying to find out if there's a cheaper alternative to the rhizo .

nutrilife makes a product called nutriboost makes the established roots go bananas and its very concentrated. But rhizo is the best its probably why people keep coming back to you for clones cause they probably take off right after transplanting, you wont get these results with anything else. its the best canna product by far, also use at 10 ml per litler for foliar spray you dont need anymore, and once a day only. that 60 dollar bottle goes a long ways.

I too must agree the Rhizo is the best thing I've cum across in yrz.
even seedlings.....BURST into root capacity.... it'z really unlike anything else I've EVER used...... SOLD on Rhizo

I must agree that the rhizo is great stuff too. I wasn't able to get any roots excel for my last 2 runs and the rhizo is giving some beautiful roots in a uc rdwc system.

Thank you very much everybody for your input . looks like i'm going to stick with the rhizo after hearing from so many that its worth every penny . i know its good stuff , cuz of how my plants are growing with its use . but i think i'm gonna grab some maxicrop for a side by side comparison .... just to try it . one of the guys i supply is going all organic & the maxicrop will fit his needs if it works .

time will tell i guess .... thanx again guys :)

Translant IN 16 OZ CUP = 4ml per liter of rhyzo
Next watering = 2ml per liter of rhyzo
At the 3rd I start giving only cannazym (2.5ml per liter)

About 3 weeks later...
Transplant in 3 liters pot = 4ml per liter of rhizo
Next watering = 2ml per liter of rhyzo
At the 3rd I start giving only cannazym (2.5ml per liter)
If needed I give them nutes on 5-6 watering

1 month later....flowering time!
Transplant in 25 liters pot = 4ml per liter of rhizo
Next watering = 2ml per liter of rhyzo
At the 3rd I start giving only cannazym (2.5ml per liter)
Nutes + cannazym

I have great result!

I would do a side by side with the suggested products if you are doing that many clones.... I've had success with rhizo, root Xcelartor, Maxicrop seaweed extract. Why not try those 3 on a set of the same clones and see what happens. I'm sure a lot of folkj here would like to see that bro

I use GO bioroot and get very good results....I use to not use it as much and depend on microorganisms to promote root growth...However, I use city water and do other things that kill these beneficials.... Now that I am aware of this, I absolutely crush root growth with this product...at times, I use it with the bioweed especially if the cuts are young and I'm trying to push them.
If you must know, I soak jiffy cubes in bioroot, bioweed, and diamond black (humic/fulvic) and then I dip the clones in Azo nitrogen fixing bacteria & hormone for a 100% organic cloning method. Nevertheless, I feel that the bioroot is the most essential ingredient and have notice better root growth as ALL stages due to this product....
However, I can't compare it to rhizo or excel because I have never felt the need to spend that much money...however, for a little pocket change, bioroot produces very good results and I would imagine if used properly, bioroot can probably compete with excel and other especially if the price point is accounted.
