and even if gus IS gay, i dont understand how that has any significant effect on the outcome of the storyline?

It doesn't as far as I can see, but some were arguing that he had a gay relationship with his first cook and that explained his very strong reaction to the murder of said cook.

It's the most emotional we've ever seen Gus, so people are speculating on what might be behind that reaction -- a perfectly reasonable inquiry I would say in trying to understand the character.

and even if gus IS gay, i dont understand how that has any significant effect on the outcome of the storyline? are we just being typical americans being more concerned with whether or not he sucks dick or eats pussy rather then focusing on other things about him such as how he REALLY is a horribly bad and evil person? .

Maybe you nailed it right there...

pretty insane to see walt back then, and the funny foreshadowing about him that you would have never guessed back then.

i never even remembered the carwash!!! now that i see he use to work there back in the day makes it even funnier...man i cant believe i forgot that (havent watched in in a few years though...)

This is one of those shows that you absolutely have to watch it all over again. The art direction and cinematography is almost better than the writing... Maybe it is better. Everything on this show is so good I can't even pick a favorite thing about it.

I have watched every episode at least twice and I still catch little nuances on the ones I've seen a third time.

I'm waiting for the show to finish then buying the delux DVD box set and rewatching it all.

Not trying to fixate on Gus' sexuality other than as just another character trait. If anything he is more asexual than homosexual. But its like with Omar from The Wire... its just another detail.

Actually the city I'm in has a major gay population.. there are always rumors of a Gay Mafia in a certain part of town... connected to business, politics, etc... lesbians runnin tings usually hehe

the pool scene when all of the g-string divas were walking around gus wanted nothing to do with them....obviously he probably had other things on his mind, but hell you could at least peep out some broads while you wait out the poison.......he looked down to the pool the whole time.... very questionable scene which may also be gilligans way of showing that gus is in fact gay and gets down on his knees like a top knotch hoe, but who knows....

jessie didnt pay the hoes any attention either, at the poolside scene.
i dont even know where that gay theory comes from or who brought it up but i dont find it very propable. why would they make this character gay? how would his sexual orientation even play a role in the story?

ppl take gus strong reaction to his partner being killed in mexico as a hint towards him being gay? wtf this wouldnt even occur to me. gus was new to the game and his partner was killed in front of his eyes OF COURSE he would show a strong reaction to that.

I think the whole gay thing started with Gayle...he did have some peculiar personality traits. But I don't think he and Gus were lovers, as it would be weird for Gayle to call his lover "Mr. Freen" lol.

For me the gay thing is just one small dynamic with a few possible connections like i'm convinced it will come out that Gus was one sick mofo who was no stranger to blood and murder a war criminal who is also gay.

The gay thing might not have a big role maybe as was stated b4 it is all just a distraction... Or after they become partners in crime and trust each other Jesse flips and kills Gus when he finds out Gus wanted his ass and the deception of thinkin Gus respekted him as as man not a piece of chicken.

This would show how fucked up insecure n homophobic middle america still is about gay's, and touch more on Jessie's frail insecure character, and be a really cool ending unless it actually happens lol

Maybe i take way too much budder, don't know but i'm havin a blast watchin this show tryin ta figure out what Vince is up to.

No way i'm gonna ignore all the flags Vince put out there, he's peaked interest, especially with Gus's past, not if he prefers cock.

Why the fuk the Cartel respekts Gus and let him fuk with them, is the main question.

WELL, OBVIOUSLY Gus is someone important. The scene where they shot his first partner/cook he said the only reason Gus wasn't dead is because he was aware of who he was. It is common sense he is a big time player in the game.

Not trying to fixate on Gus' sexuality other than as just another character trait. If anything he is more asexual than homosexual. He already has a mild to semi mild/severe case of OCD. Exactly like Omar. I really enjoy that they portray these individuals (in terms of sexuality vs identity vs LIFE) because it is not shown enough. But its like with Omar from The Wire... its just another detail - he's still a man.

Actually the city I'm in has a major gay population.. there are always rumors of a Gay Mafia in a certain part of town... connected to business, politics, etc... lesbians runnin tings usually hehe

With all due respect - no fucking way man. We can open that can of worms... but why do you think that 2/3 of people in power (business owners) are on the boards of churches? Do you really think it's because they believe in the power of Christ bringing them together? No, its about networking and the key to that is working with someone you TRUST. Ironically, religion for some reason gives almost anyone trust - as long as your beliefs are the same.

Literally a perfect analogy (since we're on Wire talk) =

You're telling me that Omar being gay was not a HUGE storyline/plotline/revenge/leverage over the rest of the city of Baltimore?

Not only did he not give a fuck, but he KNEW he couldnt go to prison/and if he did, fuck it he's a boss. Everyone knows it - as evidenced multiple times by the blind man's guys hooking him up in jail as he fucks (literally) his enemies up the ass with an exacto knife in the lunch line......

ON ANOTHER NOTE

Gus' sexuality is a HUGE party of this storyline - it hast has not been completely exploited (however intelligent individuals like yourself have seen and properly interpreted the appropriate scenes).

It is very subtle. In my opinion, Gus is a relative/whatever of a very well respected cartel-esque type family in Chile, and once they discovered he liked cock, he was out. The Cartel knows this and therefore will not fuck with him. If they do, they know their supplier is oone. (other drugs)

On that note... I think that he is the son/relative of somebody VERY important in Chile's drug police/police/mafia/etc. Nobody walks at a Mexican cartel sniper knowing he wont dare shoot him. That scene confirmed it for me, Gus is a bigger player (however in my opinion a disgraced one trying to regain former glory) than we could possibly imagine. - note the vengeance Gus puts towards his 'business' - he's either proving a point to those he owes/control him (chile) or he's simply content making millions and living in dogshit ABQ eating Peruvian food.

Out of the country and existence that is.... his 'penance' aka his breaking bad is to operate this entire business (pollos hermanos, meth, cartel, etc) and that is his penance for the harm he has brought upon others (in his mind, in my opinion).

Has nobody figured it out yet? The cartel is a fucking middle man. Gus is from SOUTH AMERICA. AMERICA DE SUR. The place where the PURE, REAL, ETC product comes from. The cartel is nothing more than a middle man to Gus, a distributor. This is simple business gentleman, which almost blows the story.

Gus gets his revenge because its not legal, (which he almost has) along with the simultaneous a) renewal/relationship builder with Gus' family in Chile, once they show he has balls - thats where I think the locket goes to, south emerican kingpins that shunned the little gayboy - this is his chance to do good / prove himself. He will kill that jamacian gayboy/security/cook/wtfever or walt will - for sure.

Its a great political message and i think they'll play it out for 4 episodes or so but he will stop because his family from Chile will take him back finally because he has destroyed their middle man. little do they know it was a personal issue for him, but i have a feeling everyone will win out of this. death? yes. winning? absolutely.

Mind you, when I'm talking about the cartel being a middleman, i'm referring to knowledge, quality, and quantity - no matter what the 'drug'

mexico is the panama canal for drugs, nothing more, nothing less. violence is mostly due to lack of payment / bribes / etc. dont hate the players, hate the game.

with all do respect, very bold statements there tronic.......... some seem to be too bold........... only the people who are part of the show (vince gilligan, bryan cranston, aaron paul, etc) can speak with such boldness.....because they actually know whats going on and can make bold statements.....

im gonna make some bold speculations right now about whats going to go down on the second last episode of the season...god damn did this season FLY by....so sad.......... anyways im making some of these predictions based on preview clips so if you arent big on previeiws then close your eyes

...Hank is going to go gomez to help him figure shit out...especially with the DEA sending hank "protection"... perhaps then we will learn that gomez is crooked.....this will also be a perfect time for shit to hit the fan with gomez potentially getn the "on-the-spot-death-sentence" right in front of hank........... :biglaugh:.......... bring on the DEA, CIA, FBI (probably highly unlikely, but who knows?)

and then and then and then and then and then and then and then and then ......

I also feel as if it is highly likely that someone in walt's family is going to die....will it be the newborn? Does anyone agree that in this season the seldom focused on "newborn" has gotten the same motherly parenting treatment from skylar as casey anthony gave her baby- for such a busy woman, skylar HAD to of drugd baby up and put it to sleep so she can go and do what she wants.... i have not seen much of the baby this season thats why i say this.... really though, where the fuck has the baby been all this time?!? am i missing something?!?!? if gilligan brings the baby back into this episode and has gus kill the baby, i will have to say that has got to be the worst mistake he has made because this baby has been invincible this season....the viewers (well mostly in my opinion) probably wouldn't be hit too hard if the baby was wacked....end of this specific low quality rant.... anyways...

my last prediction is that mike is a goner.... i think jesse is going to find out about this and then TRULY lose it and realize that if Gus will let mike die, then he surely wouldnt mind if jessie died....that might hit jessie hard....although jesse seems hardened - he still is young, insecure, and vulnerable.....i saw a preview with gus, jesse, tyrus walking in a parking garage together as a threesome....symbolic? idk........

there is also a preview with pinkman in a hospital going ape shit............... i initially thought that was because he just saw mike dead....but then i remembered mike is in meks E koh..............

so that makes me think it was someone in walts family that was in the hospital and made jesse flip out.......

walts family member hurt/murdered?!?!?!?!?!?!?? BRING ON THE HEISENBURG MOTHER FUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: welp my predictions are about 90% wrong HAHAHAHA

Why is everybody gettin upset coz somebody else reads the story a lil different?

Or is it just the gay thing that has people here uneasy i must say it's brought a strange and interesting dynamic to this thread.

Thanks dank i think some of us thought he was a nobody and it didn't make any sense, now it's obvious:thank you:
