iBlaze's ghetto venting solution.

Alright, so my room was just getting too hot. So I put my thoughts to work and was on a tight budget because I spent 300 on lighting, 100 on nutes and like 50 on munchies. So I had a 30$ Lowe's gift card to blow through and I knew I could do it. So this is what I came up with. Until I get an inline fan after this first harvest this will have to do.

KEEP IN MIND THIS IS ONLY MY SECOND GROW AND I AM STILL LEARNING.

I bet some of you will get a laugh out of this. Let me know what you think. I learn off of criticism, so let me know pro growers.

Find a old furnace that has rusted out and use the blower off of that. They are easy to get out usually just a couple of screws holding them in. Cover the two holes and cut them out for your in take and exhaust. Connect your pipe fittings to the newly cut holes. I have two like this and can feel the air 15 to 20 feet away from my house.

15-20 feet? I have it venting right above my bed lol. Turn my room into a tornado. I need something a little less powerful. I just am waiting till after this harvest for a 6 inch inline fan. Should be about 200 for full professional ventilation.

And RandomNegro, thanks for the compliment man. Kind of self conscious about my set up compared to some of these guys on the site. I'm 18 though and I'm trying to learn as I go. I'm open minded so let me know for any suggestions.

Maybe lightproof it better cuz i would notice the glow coming from the random vent on the wall lol. Unless ur legal then who cares. Also for the fan you can get a 6" on ebay for way less than 200.

Little bit not legal, but the only people that enter my room either are highly trusted. Or they grow as well. I'm just not sure how I'd light proof it. Would you say it'd still be a good idea to lightproof it?

Ghetto?

Looks pretty sweet.

But yeah only problem is the light. Im not sure how to fix that, maybe some sort of filter? Like the ones they use on the outside of the carbonfilters or something. I just woke up so ill probably be back later with a better suggestion when my brain is awake.
Sweet cab thou :)

I agree the set up looks great. If you want to see gheto come look at mine. Black plastic walls, furnace fans hanging, pvc pipe all over, a hanging bare bulb, and recycled pots. Then there is the piles of stuff I had to move out of the way stacked around so I could set up. Things is you took the first step which is to just start. Lots of people get confussed and delay starting. Looks good.

So what did that end up doing for your temps? From what to what?

Myself I'd set it up to suck the air through rather then blow it.

Thanks for poppin' in guys, the compliments are a huge confidence booster. My temperature levels with the door closed went from 78-87. To 73-81. I have a few more degrees I need to make up before I can completely seal off the room. I'll be keeping it updated.

A carbon filter would fix the light problem. Looks like I'll have to see how much stank comes out of that vent in a few weeks.

As for now I keep the door cracked 2-3 inches and it keeps me at about 74-76 degrees, the G spot. I have a humidifer in there but its not raising humidity levels.

you could get rid of light by making a 90 degree bend before it exits the wall and spraypaint the inside black

If you look at the way the vent is ran Hov the exhaust is straight on and there is no room for a 90 degree bend. ): I would have to re run the ducting.

Was stoned and didn't read the last part of Puffs post, I'm going to make a hole that sucks the hot air from the top of the room once I find the right size axial fan. I cut those 2 holes with a steak knife. :D
