i save all the rhizomes, and early spring i get the tubers sprouting in vermiculite and clone as they get a good 2 inch.I give most away and some were entered into competitions and won a few first prizes.I just like growing and pretty colours really.pm me nearer the time and i can send you both tuber or cuttings.

cheers for kind words,i have many more pictures i will post some time soon.peace

both dill, pollytunnel ,greenhouse for the giants and the rest in the garden,i deleted all my pics.when im home from work i will repost some pictures.Yeah once the season is over you can save the tuber, keep it dry ,mild temps, and in a dark place.I just use a box of vermiculite or sand.Alternatively you can leave them in the ground and cover with a heavy mulch to keep them warm through winter, but up north even that doesnt work sometimes.

best way to save the tuber is also wait for first frost outside and make sure the top of the tuber is blackened.if it hasnt it is not ready and leave it.It needs to be a mature tuber before you pull it.peace

Nice, they grow great in the climate here in No. California on the coast. I did not know you could clone them. Also good for tuberous begonias, you can leave the tubers in the ground all year and they get huge.
really beautiful spiritual g

you grow breed your own crosses? I didnt know you could that. Never seen a male/female flower on a dahlia. Also, never seen them set fruit/get pollinated..?

cloneing is the easy part as you ganja growers know, its saving the mature tuber that people get wrong, wait for the frost and cut back the plants and just wait till the outer shell has blackened somewhat before you lift it.an immature tuber wont work.
