it wont change anything, conservtives hve the majority, not much anyone can do unless you can convince the conservatives to back down

It's strange how their getting tougher on pot but lax on Coke, etc! The little coke dealer will get more time than the importer...the new laws allow for what seems to be easier access for payoffs to judges and prosecutors, only the importers will be able to afford to make payments!
Harper is definitely after the bottom feeders!
He is handing the silver spoon to organized crime in my opinion....no real minimum sentences are specified! Mafias are the new future! Body counts will be quietly compiled as normal.

The drug war sucks!

With dickhead Harper at the helm, I see things getting worse before they get better in Canada.... everyone back home stay safe and strong, and duck and cover if you have to..... it's going to be a bumpy ride.

All the best from a truly tolerant country,

If enough people would speak up the Cons would change parts of Bill C-10. It has aready happen when they received a petition with 70,000 signatures.

Stand up and speak up! Our silence is our consent!

I love your optimism, but its such a charged subject that even the NDP who were very pro legalization years ago, now seem to have shyed away from the whole affair. It seems we havent gone far at all. Not in Canada anyway.
I think things will remain this way for a long time, mostly because the economic heartland has switched from the more liberal east, {remember Quebec and Ontario when they were the manufacturing center of Canada? }to the very social conservative midwest with its oil profits. Those with the money make the rules.

hey dudes, great info.

im gona take a step back and state the obvious. usually when something is on the verge of being legal, taxed and regulated. harsher penalties for it are put into place. ive spoken to the conroy crew and my doctor and anyone who wants medical cannabis in 2012 will be licensed and regulated. if we consume more pot then any other nation, wouldnt that mean real jobs for real growers, trimmers, labourers, seed testers etc etc?

why is everyone still wanting to hide in their little closets? there is a great new industry and world with it opening in canada. every situation always is a double edged sword. who really still wants to work in an industry plagued by narcissists, sociopaths and unaccountable, inexperienced non-professionals?

doctors will not be allowed to say no soon. anyone who wants a license like with a car will get it, like cali. that means government jobs and government regulations. most of us are experts in at least 1 part of this industry, if not multiple things. get real, value your knowledge, and use it to your advantage, peace, d

Health Canada is sitting down in closed door meetings right now. So we shall see.

An industry for the few! And those few will be very rich!
If HC s original privatization proposal goes through that's how it will be!

Thousands in the underground economy will lose their jobs (?) so a few hundred will get wealthy just like the dispensaries in the states.

I wish they'd just legalize pot!

You miss the whole fucking point DMT. We dont need it turned into an industry so you and a few other licences capitalists can money up. We need it legalized. So we dont need to be further exploited by first the government and they you lot. end of story

this may seem like a surprise for alot of people but theres alot of pot producers in jail in holland. its far from legal there but it is tolerated. canada has always been more tolerant then most countries. hasnt anyone noticed a relative connection between us policy and canadas? theyve always been intertwined for everything.

economically amongst alot of other trends, we are usually 10-15 years behind the us ive noticed. politicians know our economy needs a boost to avoid whats happening to our southern neighbours. ive always hoped for the best with everything in my life, im sticking to my bent of character on this one too, peace, d

sweet, whats the difference today? only a few people grow high end top shelf medical grade cannabis anyway......

those should and will be the same people doing it in a regulated environment.

and mithra, to accuse someone as greedy or selfish is someone who needs to look in the mirrior. its selfish in greedy to grow carcinogenic beasters then sell it to school kids and who knows who else who may actually need it for medical purposes. not cool.

the point missed is on your end. reread my first statement. less then 1% of commercial growers grow for quality first. and they will still be doing it when all this stuff gets figured out. you dont think legalizing will put all those beasters out of business? lol hahaha open your eyes. and ears. why would anyone need more then 5 plants for personal anyway? thats what these new laws are all about.

ps its really funny to reread some of my superstoned posts when im not medicated, its even funier reading other peoples irrational super stoned posts when im not medicated lol hahaha you guys are awesome lol, d

You say 5 plants is all someone needs for personal, what about the 10 pack of seeds ? Looks like i will only be able to sprout five or goto jail. Oh and out of the 5 i got 2 females.
Damn wish i could sprout a 10 pack without going to jail dmt. So what if my wife and I both medicate, 5 plants is definately not enough . Just one question to DMT-"Are u a licensed patient? and if so what are your plant limits?? I guarantee you its over 5 plants.

""its selfish in greedy to grow carcinogenic beasters then sell it to school kids and who knows who else who may actually need it for medical purposes. not cool."""

What are you trying to say?? Carcinogenic beasters??? school kids???
You almost sound like CANADA"S JUSTICE MINISTER --ROB "DMT" NICHOLSON

A better idea would to legalize for every adult and put plant and light limits on houses.
Must have permits for electrical and have ventilation installed. Now how is this a problem to our communities?
