DIY cootube keeps hazing over! ug

This is a diy cooltube made from a hurricane glass from craftstore. It's set up clean and real nice... Then wiped down with windex and polished crystal clear. Then in a week or so it's hazed over, no fog or moisture... just not clear any loonger.

What the hell?! It would suck to have to take this thing down everyweek or so to clean it.

Ive already discussed filtering the intake and that's already being done. When I looked at it, i dont really know why this is happening...

Can you offer any help.

Intakes as in the tube's or the cab? I'd try both. Panty hose, coffee filters, aquarium filter pads...

fan sucking on one side...aquarium filter pad on the other....

its not really dust, but it does wipe off with windex clear. But it happens over the entire tube... inside outside "top" (horizontal hanging) and even under the bulb. I get the feeling it;s shitty glass. I would think that it would happen inside faster than outside...

What's hurricane glass? Is it really glass or some kind of plastic, or plexiglass which is plastic. If it's plastic, you're probably getting something coming out of the plastic from the high heat of the bulb. Good luck. -granger

It is a glass surround for a candle or other flame based light, keeps the wind from blowing out the light.

it might be particulate dust which is being solidified due to the high temperature in the tube. sorta like if you heat sand and it turns to glass. i know this requires a very very high temperature but just a thought

stated in post #3... blue aquarium filter pad. It's not perfect, but when the same stuff is used to filter the IN side of a SuperSun hood, there is NO dust or hazing happening at all... about once a month the glass gets a wipe down for good measure tho.

i found that pollen and other dust particles collect in tubes. i have not found it necessary to clean it while growing.

thank you though i will try the in line filters you suggested anyway.

anything to keep things clean :tiphat: :blowbubbles:

one,
Sounds like the filter is adequate. I should have asked, "What is a blue aquarium filter pad?" -granger

that's my point, it everything seems perfect, but still this is happenng.

TriWingGal= I find it interesting that you dont clean it. You dont feel like youre loosing valuable lumens? Does This happen to the inner TOP of your tube too? When I saw it I gasped and had to clean it immediately
