I find that there is an intensely large misconception of conspiracy theorists. Who benefits from the mindset
that conspiracy theorists are nuts? Well, those dirty bastards who are conspiring. If you were a dirty conspiring bastard, there'd be no better time to get away with your bullshit than now,
because few are looking into what your doing because it's become "cool" to bash intellectual free thinkers and stick a derogatory label on them. Those that do look into things, care more
about finding out the truth than what someone else is going to label them. I respect that!

Lets look at what a theory is and what it isn't. A theory is not a belief. It is something derived from researching, analyzing and calculating. They are easily tossed out, replaced and or refined.
Beliefs have a much more solidifying, concrete effect. They are not so easy to change, and more often than
not, people will deny the new in order to maintain the old. Beliefs usually don't die until their owner
expires. Theories, by nature utilize as much information as possible. With beliefs, it's natural to turn
a blind eye to any other data.

Lets look at what conspire is.
1.
to agree together, especially secretly, to do something wrong, evil, or illegal: They conspired to kill the king.
2.
to act or work together toward the same result or goal.
verb (used with object)
3.
to plot (something wrong, evil, or illegal).

Conspiring people and groups exist. This isn't Mr. Rogers neighborhood. It's more like
a world wide game of King of the hill.

In my mind, a conspiracy theorist is someone who wants to know what is going on. They
don't like seeing good people taken advantage of by bad people. They are willing to spend
large amounts of personal time researching and data collecting. They care about the things
that really matter, and are giving, caring and sharing individuals.

For the record, I'm not a "conspiracy theorist", but I darn sure am someone who theorizes
about those who conspire.
:D
Don't take any wooden nickels my brothers and sisters.
Peace

my insane friend believes whole heartedly that education is a joke. He laughs at me for having a bachelor's. He says my 4 years of college were pointless. He says I've been "brainwashed by academia." Though, he wouldn't use the word academia, as he has about a 7th grade education. He believes with all his might that one can obtain a better education by watching youtube videos on conspiracy and doomsday. I am NOT joking. So he is not an intellectual free thinker. Actually, I am, or would be by definition. I mean I believe that there has to be life out there somewhere in space...and that there are occasional government coverups and stuff...but not to the extent that I go into a psychotic trance while spending hours on end in chats and forums trying to "get to the bottom of it." No, he is no intellectual. And that is what is really bad about his situation...he's filling his head with all kinds of off the wall theories and taking that as fact...as "real education."

labeling someone schizoid paranoid is fine, because a diagnosis is a starting baseline for medication or therapy.

I, on the other hand, recommend smoking weed.

I also adore he is trying to find the truth, albeit he is being very sensitive to his ego to what he knows.

Everyone is intellectual to a degree, but to apply a scientific process to something with intuition is stupid. I also believe being intellectual is nice, but information does not equal a great mind. Intuition and true creation with your hands and mind is where intelligence is.

Engineering a thought, idea or constructs - one of which he is doing. Also the idea that something is not right runs through things, and it is true because of how big businesses run and the economy.

As far as reptiles, that's a metaphorical play on our reptilian senses or mental energy that doesn't love and destroys.

He does sound like he is to the point where he is talking just to be something. Try and understand it, yet have an under-response when he explains the theory.

A lot of theories hold true for me, I know which ones.

To be a conspiracy theorist, you must doubt the "true reality" we are given and place it in your mind "do I trust people who break the law and create it, take our money and imprison us, leave us with little information and authoratatively force us into school and look down on us when we don't say the pledge."

The sky is falling, for real.

The problem is that most people with mental disorders think that they are normal; and this is a concern especially if they are hearing voices that tell them to slit your throat.

I've known some people with mental disorders and they are not fun to be around; especially when they don't take their medicine; and by the way this is a very common problem.

I would just stay clear of him.

I think its sad/funny that we call the drugs they give to "schizo's" medicine. If they are off it for a little to long they have huge crazy withdralls, some of them you have to wean off of or could have some serious issues. How can it be medicine if when you stop using it, in some cases, it can kill you? Sounds like a serious drug to me :)

Here you are saying people off their meds might not be fun to be around, maybe because they have been force fed a drug made to treat a disorder that basically blanket diagnoses a huge range of people. Heres some quick warning signs of going schizo I googled.

"--Overly acute senses- lights are too bright, sounds are too loud."
"--Clumsy, inexact motor skills"
"--Sleep disturbances- insomnia or excessive sleeping"
"--An awkward gait (how you walk)"
"--Appearing desireless- seeking nothing, wanting nothing"

These are only a few the warning signs of schizophrenia, I like how a few of them are induced by cannabis like sensitivity to light.

My favorite was this one:
"--Finding it difficult to deal with stressful situations"

Yeah, stress shouldn't be difficult, you should just deal with it, yeah bury it deep down right? lol, STRESSFUL SITUATIONS AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE EASY, HENCE STRESS LMAO!

I know some of the symptoms on the list are VERY defining and make sense to be there, because not every person deals with a voice in their head that they think is not their own, but some of these are seriously silly.

The list goes on:

"--Difficulty expressing thoughts verbally. Or not having much to say about anything. "

WTF! If your quiet, your deff schizo.

The way I see it they want to pump as many people as they can with these mind numbing drugs.

Just sayin.
Does anyone else have any experience like this?

So my friend since high school and me keep in touch - we text back and forth everyday, just like "hey I took a big shit" or "check out this movie online." Over the past few years he became increasingly weird - spending hours on end in chat rooms talking about the end of the world and conspiracy theories, etc. Mind you this is a guy in his 30's. Doesn't work, doesn't go outside except to the corner store. Talks about some spiritual chick he met online and how he's going to meet her in 6 months or something. So the texts and emails increase and become weirder - every day getting 10 emails with links to youtube videos about all kinds of conspiracy stuff. Along with the videos is always a long comment about how he "just figured everything out"...like he had an epiphamy about how the world is run by reptile aliens and you just have to watch this video that explains it all. EVERY DAY this shit went on.
It became clear at one point that - holy shit - he's serious! He had created this whole world in his head about reptile alien overlords out to get us, and how politicians and famous people are all aliens out to get us. And he's DEAD serious.
About a year ago I gave him my facebook and email passwords to check up on things for me while I was away. A few months later he emails me like "you stupid shit you gave me your email and facebook passwords and forgot about it" and proceeds to discuss with me an email that he must have really dug for - thousands of emails in there, must have spent hours. The thing is, I didn't "forget" I gave him my passwords - I trusted him as a friend. Apparently he doesn't have any experience with trust or real friendship.
So I promptly changed my passwords, and now he's cut off communication with me. I actually think it's a God-send, no more schizo emails about alien conspiracies and other crap.
So we're not talking anymore, hopefully we never will...but I have to think what's wrong with him. He got rid of his TV, and just stays in his room on his little netbook 24/7 going on chat sites about conspiracy and aliens and that's really it.
Ever have someone in your life like this? What do you think is wrong with him?

edit: he QUIT smoking weed about a year ago. The weirdness increased after he stopped smoking. Now he thinks cannabis is evil or something.

After reading to page 3 I gotta say, your pretty much doing the same thing the guy did to you only in a different light. Did he disclose any of your private info to people? Or did he catch you telling someone how you feel about him?

Your telling us alot about this guy, and in a negative light, you claim he doesnt trust his family, do you know his childhood? Seriously some parents are fucking evil, would you trust a parent that has given you reason after reason not to?

Why lie to someone and lead them along, respond to the emails saying it seems crazy to you or scares you or w/e or you felt uncomfortable with 15 emails a day.

Sorry if I'm judgin on you I just thought I should speak mai mind here, much love to those I quoted.

believe it or not, this kind of thing can happen to anyone. look at cults, or even something as simple as stockholm syndrome. From what I've heard, more intelligent people are more at risk because they give an idea a chance before it can be factually dis-proven (maybe like the scientific method? I dunno, just a thought)

so maybe its possible that he was smoking some heavy indica strains that helped slow down his mind a bit, and when he stopped it revved back up to full capacity and started processing these crazy theories?

basically, time for more weed. :smoweed:

schizo is a prefix.

schizo =/= hallucinating

schizophrenia, be it disorganized, paranoid, residual...has some form of hallucination happening.

I say in depression, bi-polar, there is a chance to have small psychoses similar to schizophrenia. It has to do with your negative emotions that protect you.

If all you can do is respond with protection in a world that demands interaction, it can be tough.

He really should stop thinking so much, this is how to get him out of the manic state....

He is obsessing, and that is where the brain chemicals adrenochrome and serotonin screw people.

Once he stops this obsessing or not as much, much of the delusions WILL go away.

Cannabis stops this overreaction most of the time, if you use it. If you don't really smoke weed, then begin.....you may have a panic attack.

Tell you're friend to get connected with the freemasonry, and get with a meeting. You will be selected if you have internal truthing of a high-degree. Which truth and definition of it don't rely on facts or delusions, but rather the internal-self.

Truth comes from the self, not reality. So you must trust YOUR own truth first.

grozzeff he doesn't HAVE any friends. I was his only friend left, everyone else disassociated themselves from him, including his family. Now his "friends" are anyone on an AOL chat room that will listen to him

You gotta realize, your opinions of this guy were created by someone who was wronged by him and ended the relationship prematurely, and saw this as a GOD SEND!!! LOL, they way I see it you have no right to say all he has to do is stop thinking so much, or he is obsessing.

He snooped in this dudes email, the guy saw it as a way to break off the friendship he lead along the entire time...... lol... I dont know, people seem to have trouble knowing what a lie is.

IMO the OP was lying to this guy the entire time leading him along as though he was a friend to listen, and when couldnt handle it didnt admit it openly.

GG

we used to know someone like your buddy
she ate herself crazy with ecstasy pills
she lived the conspiracy life in full bloom
disclose every possible lie to others and lived an internet routed life
she did went to a psychological evaluation and they diagnosed her with schizophrenia

i think that the people that get into conspiracies and stuff

not saying they might not be true but

often they want to help us, by telling us all these things

so when you see it that way, you say well the person its trying to help/save me good

but not all of them want to save you lol

I know some have closed down on themselves

maybe because people ridiculed them

but also I dunno

it's a bit like religion, those cults and stuff, can be scary

your mind can get warped
