hell yeah festivus - be chilling in the yard with a beer or jibber and have this 300 pound piece of space metal come flying down at my head at 20,000 mph...

If I found a piece I would NOT report it. Then when I began suffering from radiation sickness I would sell it for a shit load of bud

they just said the odds of it hitting a person is 1 in 3200

I saw a news segment a few days ago that said the same thing. If I'm not mistaken, they were talking about the 300lb chunk specifically.

You said it right, 'hitting a person'. They went on to say the chance of the 300lb chunk hitting a specific person is something like 1 in 20 trillion.

It's already down -- word so far is apparently near Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Although not sure if it just broke up over there or actually had landfall.

EDIT:

Looks like it hit the atmosphere and broke up over Calgary but anything that survived would land in the Pacific. Here's a video someone shot of it hitting the atmosphere near Calgary:

Video is now being called a hoax, sorry.

I saw a woman on the news who was hit with a meteor, lol. I want to say it was the US. The woman was walking down the sidewalk and a golf ball size meteor hits her on the back of the shoulder. The reporter said the meteor wasn't falling fast enough to injure the woman.

If a moment like that doesn't make you religious...

Looks like that video I posted above is now being called a hoax.

Sorry about that. I think NASA is still saying breakup over the Pacific, but nobody seems to have any definitive info. still.
