G Granger2 Active member Veteran Sep 24, 2011 #22 I was cautioned on the phone by the Lumatek guy that ballasts can have a residual charge in them. Best to ground them before opening or splicing cords. That may be just for digital ballasts. Don't know, but safety first. Good luck. -granger
