There is a business term, I forget what it is, that describes the initial push back against any change in a business model/product. It comes mostly from people like you who spend 5 hours a day on Facebook. Once you see a small change, one that you aren't used to, the general public won't like it at first but eventually will accept it because 1) there is no where else to go and 2) Facebook will forever be used and popular.
In two months check how many users "left" Facebook. The number will be very low.

Whoa. Whoa. Whoa, there sport. I care. My wife gets home in the afternoon and she and my daughter start talking then get on facebook and do whatever the hell it is they do there until late into the evening.
Now, if facebook weren't there I would have to sit and hear about her trip to the store, The latest family news. And all the other frivolous bullshit that usually goes in 1 ear and out the other. Now I don't have to waste an hour or 2 of my afternoon and can get back to doing man shit. You know. Important man shit!

I have no idea whats so interesting about facebook. I had an account for a few days a few years ago and I had to cancel my account. All it was, was friends of mine talking about stuff i dont care about, and if I needed to talk to someone I could pick up the phone and actually call them. Im not trying to be mean, I hear about it everyday of my life and I truly don't understand the fascination. Every company has a facebook and twitter account. I have never even been on twitter. I understand keeping in touch with old friends, but people spend hours on this site typing random stuff.
