The purple strain I will be making...

I was looking at the highest percentage of DARK purple plants and I went with the obvious choice ACE seeds PCK, have grown it before, liked all aspects of it except the yield.

I wanted to bring down the flowering time, but at the same time I wanted to substantially increase the yield. After bouncing around I decided upon sweettooth that SOL is currently offering.

Obviously I know that I will have to grow out all of the seeds I am making, in order to find a purple pheno with the qualities I am interested in........ But I was curious if you could change either of the strains I have decided upon(going after a Purple, Fast, Heavy yielding) which would you change out and why....

Not to say anything negative, but it will take more than just a single cross to isolate parental lines which true breed purple plants.

Just like Dutchgrown's Magenta99, the majority of the phenotypes will be green, but I am looking just to find one great recessive purple mother, and if I grow out around 300 plants I assume I will be able to find a purple plant with the qualities I want.:dance013:

Anybody else?

I have grown PCK a few times. If your doing that many you will find something great. Ace PCK is actually from CBG. Ace was given parental stock when they worked together. I have got more Purple Phenos then green. My stock came from CBG though. Should be the same unless Ace changed anything.

Make as many seeds as you can so you have the largest pool to select from. Use as many males and females as you can (select the best) so you have the widest gene pool to work with. The initial F1 may not produce your ideal plant. The F2 generation of the cross is where you will start finding the really interesting plants...

I have made a cross with an almost 50/50 ratio of purple plants and am currently growing out the f1 generation (not a true f1 but I call them f1 as they are the first gen) and have a nice male which I am going to pollinate the 3 females I have with. The mother was a Very Berry Surprise (probably BlackberryWidow, when Gypsy got the beans something happened so they were passed out as freebies as there was no proof of parentage-that's how I remember it anyway) she had an intense deep purple that looked a shade fluorescent when looked at in some light. I used a Blueberry male to pollinate her and right now I have 3 females 16 days into flower and one of them is neck and neck sizewise with a critical mass I have in the same tent, the rest of the plants are noticeably smaller. I'm planning on growing out some of the other f1 beans I have and using a Citral Kush male (CannaBiogen) to try for a higher purple ratio. I am also going to use the Citral Kush to pollinate a clone of the best plant of the 3 I currently have, hopefully it's the one looking to be a high yielder as she's also the most Sativa in her phenotypical leaning. I actually thought of using a SwT#3 mother and a Citral Kush father but the current project is looking promising so I'm concentrating on these. Unfortunately I am not in a position to grow out a lot of plants right now so this whole project is going to take a few years just to get to f4 or f5 once I've found the right recipe. There's plenty of really nice, high ratio purple strains out there but few yield well and have a lot of potency. Sorry if I haven't answered any questions, just thought I'd share as it seems we're both persuing the same idea. Best of luck mate.

300 is definitely enough to select from. :tiphat:

^hey mate^ those are a couple of really nice strains, you must have similar tastes in bud to me as those 2 are among my favourites for sure. Nice choice mate! Good growing...
