Anyone use an EZ Clone 120 to flower?

Anyone yet to run a complete cycle with the EZ 120?

I bought a used one of these for $150 on CL when gathering gear. I think it's too big to just use as a cloner and since have built myself a DIY aero to reclaim precious veg space. I'm actively trying to sell this thing but not really getting any action on it so I was pondering the idea of just loading this thing up and run it through a whole cycle of rooting, veg and flower with a SCROG.

I'm just curious if anyone has yet to do this, with or without the SCROG?

nope, but it is good for 30 day veg, and you have to untangle the roots every other day.

Yeah, I could foresee that happening. I don't think I would load it up so to speak. I'd try to allow some spacing between plants in order to somewhat circumvent the roots becoming tangled. I have found that tying a loose knot in roots helps a bit with the tangling.

i dont think they would make it. ive never let mine go past two or three weeks but have had a buddy do it he lost half of them to root rot and the others went far behind it. if i were you id go buy an intermittent timer that do like 40 sec or 50 sec increments. help keep the temps down. they took me a while to find but ebay has some cheap ones.

Lol. If you do it post pictures. That would be pretty funny to see 120 colas jammed into that space.

Use EWC tea and change out the water every 3 weeks and you should be able to avoid root rot throughout flowering. You would also need an oscillating fan on high blowing thru the colas to avoid bud rot cause they would be so packed together. I would imagine that you would have to throw them into 12/12 as soon as they root too.

I have a 120, and I kinda want to try this now.

Haha! I think it might be a fun experiment. I don't use it for anything else and nobody seems to want it so I figure that I should get some use out of it some how. I dunno if I would load it up to 120 because of the spacing. I was thinking maybe 10 or 12 sites max maybe with a scrog. I think that should space it out enough.

I think the temp issues could be resolved by daily maint as well as maybe adding in some water bottles when needed. I keep all my standalone bucket res right below 80F and have been lucky to not have had any root rot parties. Hopefully it would be the same in the EZ as well.

Temp is not really an issue when you use EWC tea in an ezcloner.
I use a seedling heat mat under mine if you can believe that.

What is this EWC tea, that you speak of? Never heard of it.

Earthworm Castings. Worm shit. You can make a tea out of it and add it to your ezcloner rez. It is full of beneficial bacteria that colonizes the water and rootzone and doesnt allow pathogens to get a foothold.

I use this-

Its more expensive than the plain worm shit, but works like magic.

Sounds pretty interesting, and you have no problems with clogged sprayers...

umm i know it will drop your temps its been a while i think it was 5 or 10 degrees not sure but it has fixed me a couple of my friends issues. it allowed for a chiller to be replaced with that timer in one spot they do help with heat and electricity usage issues. hope ya get it fig out bro good luck

Never.

There is no particulate matter big enough in the tea to clog the misters. Besides those ezcloner pumps are overpowered to the point where, even if a mister did get clogged (which I have yet to see) all of the cuttings would still be wetted by other misters.

I am still trying to figure out how to use mine as a cloner:)
I kind of suck at non-dirt stuff.

that's real talk man.

...

i tried doing veg in a turboklone 144. even with daily maintenance, the roots wrapped around the manifold and choked the sprayers in less than 2 weeks. wound up having to slice them apart.

with all the extra time i spent pulling roots apart, i just could have built a proper aero veg system out of schedule 40 pvc and 5x5x84" vinyl fence posts. so that's what i did the next go round. thing works pretty damn well too.

Thanks for that hip pocket class on EWC. I learned something today. I might have to try that if I run into rot problems down the road.

That seems like it would work. Nice to hear others vouch for them.

That was my next question.

I think I might pick one up. This might be able to fix my DIY cloner woes. My temps sit right at 80 with my powerhead. I'd like to get em to 75 and up my weak ass cloning percentage.

True dat.

I was only thinking 12 plants max in a 120 site. I can see how root management could become a pain. I hope knots and regular grooming would make it bearable.
