I'll experiment a bit here once I'm growing similar clones. The last few seasons I've always pulled as soon as I see a couple of amber in a few spots with the scope. Thanks

Harvested at Day 69

Harvested at Day 69

One of the many tops after a hasty trim job.

This is what all (4) plants looked like. I topped one of them as an experiment, but it didn't look or produce much differently than the others. I kept the plants separate when I hung them so we'll see how the topped plant did when I weigh everything. For perspective that's a 50cm Zumo tube next to a pot that's roughly 12" tall.

Most of the branches that were never tied up were dropping over by the time I harvested. The homemade tomato cages worked, but next time I'll probably use real ones.

Gotta keep the tube clean!

Not much popcorn bud, but the stuff that was there was very foxtaily.

Nugs!

It was great to get these gals out of their little closet & photograph them somewhat properly.

Thanks for sticking with me through this initial grow. . . weigh-in results soon to come, as they've already been hanging @ 50% humidity for 3 days. :smoke out:

Congrats on the indoor and outdoor harvests bro!! Looks bomb

It's always an adrenaline rush getting out there and chopping down those outside ladies. I plant in late spring and don't go back till the fall, so it's always fun trying to find the survivors in the first place!!

Stay safe and stoned,
LD

Looking at your fingertips I'd say you might be getting high!!! Great job.
Thanks buddy. They're very resinous.

Yeah, I hear ya. . . when I went back to my plot for the second and last time before harvest I realized that I had lost a couple of my holes! The raspberries & poison ivy had grown over 6' tall & they were as good as lost. Haha, still beats tending the girls all summer!

drool. Man those are looking heavy! I can't wait to see how you made out over all. Congrats on a great OD season. I know you were definitely working hard. It's awesome to see it paid off for you. Flipped the cab last night, we're off to see the wizard.

Total Weight

Total Weight

Alright, the numbers are in. . . unfortunately they were a little dryer than I would have liked when coming off the lines in terms of an ideal cure, but for weigh-in purposes it should mean these numbers are pretty conservative.

  • 6.5 oz
  • 6.375 oz (topped between 5th & 6th nodes when in keg cups)
  • 4.75
  • 4.375
  • Total = 22 oz's or 623 grams

I was pretty generous with what I considered popcorn because I'm quite fond of good oil, so it might have been more but there's no way of knowing how much went into the oil run.

Dry flower pics to follow.

holy moly! you did 1 gpw. and what were the temps like? you said it was 29 c or so right? amazing

B

29°C = 84°F. . . so, yeah it was pretty hot.

Back in summer when the lights were on 18/6 for 2-3 weeks it was getting up to 90°F for a while. That's less than ideal, so in the winter when the ambient temps are cooler I should have denser flowers.

I am expecting something like 29c(84f) aswell with my 2 x600 hps . I hope to average atleast 0.6 gpw with this unknown indica dom strain. 700+ would definitely do me well.

hey man what's the high like? how strong's ak47 overall? what can you compare it to in terms of weaker/stronger?

I haven't tried any of either harvest yet. I have the oil I made from the combined trim & popcorn of the two harvests & that's getting me by until the flowers get a nice cure of at least another couple days.

The AK buds are very resinous so I expect great things! I'll keep you posted.

Hi B. Those harvest numbers are staggering. Vertical really seems to be the way to go. I'm curious, is there anything you think you could have done differently to further increase the yield? Kudos man, enjoy the fruits of you're labor.

Yeah, I could have used the other 2' of head height. My square footage of canopy space was 2/3 of what it should have been. Next time I'll stack two bulbs to increase canopy space, and will use 5 gallon containers and veg another 2 weeks. Those changes should give me adequate coverage up top and the bud mass to fill it!

I'm also contemplating an AC unit. . .

Beautiful stuff, homie! AK47 is fire. I know there are strains that are in vogue right now and people have their own opinions, but I still have yet to be handed a bag of something someone else grew that I could point to and say "this is way better than my stuff."

I still haven't tried any from this particular mom or this run. In a couple days I should know what you're talking about!

Thanks for following along buddy.
