Yes that stuff sounds scarey...but that is the max they can hand out...which they never do unless you a big time criminal...

Personal experience.Back in 81 I was busted pretty big and the crown wanted 12-14 yrs. I ended up with 2.5 yrs. and was out in 10 months with full parole. So what they say they want and what they do get is usually way off.
Drag it out as long as possible until your lawyer gets house arrest and or probation.The courts are over-flowing and want to dispense of non-violent crime in a timely fashion....Goood luck to you along the way..

im shitting my pants,but trying not to think about it,i have been to court 3 times all just to put over.i do have a lawyer and he is good.i had no weapons,no previous drug charges,no evidense of trafficking except for a small scale,but im a chef and told them i weigh spices with it and it was in my spatula droor.no debt lists,i in fact was not dealing.i have to plead guilty,they have me on a warrant and got me stone cold,but i was the only guy in the stations history to be let go that night and not held.my brother in law is a cop there and i think that helped me a lot.i cant see myself pleading not guilty,if i get convicted im fucked.my charges are production of marijuan with the intent to traffic.
just keep a non guilty plea until trial or pretrial. they will think you and your counsel mean business. esp the trial judge is way diff from plea judges and their respective levels.
production is a minimal crime, and they will drop the intent to bargain for production, which could end up being a court fee fine.
if you do go to trial, you can always plead guilty w explanation. say its for arthritis or other medical conditions youve had in the past with records. they want to put the fear of god in you, dont worry, drag it out, you will be okay. the closer to trial you get, the more they will want to bargain. plus you will have a chance top meet with the crown before the triasl. heavy themwith your side of the story, they hate that lol haha

apparantly there was an investigation,they planned out the raid.i was stopped up the road from my house.i have no clue who ratted me,noone knew i had plants outside.noone comes to my house except for my mom.there was an informant.
yeah,i know i will never find out who ratted unless they tell me themselves.i just listen to my lawyer
Chill out guy..you will probably not go to jail,esp since you have a lawyer.It may takes a few months but all I can see is house arrest.Seems your,e clean and got a job etc.They don,t want to put guys like you in jail.Non violent crime is almost guaranteed a slap on the wrist...anyhow thats the way it is here in Nova Scotia.
They will probably want info from you about others you know who may be growing...What you do there is up to you...but noone likes that kind of thing.

i have already paid 5 grand for everything up to trial.oh yeah i got "the card"but i dont nelieve in that kind of thing,only a coward fucks omeone over to better themselves.not an option

Lawyers will fuck you around, listen to DMT. I know two people this last year who payed their lawyers 5k retainer upfront without doing any research themselves on the lawyer or case. Both never made it to trial, one guy payed 5k for the lawyer to say we have no case and told him last minute to plead guilty right when the judge called up the case in pre trial.

but how can i plead not guilty when they have me stone cold like that,they found the plants at my house.i do have some things in my favor however,no evidense of trafficking at all,i onlky had 1 1000 watt light inside with 14 plants in the room,and the outside was the majority of seedlings.so how the fuck could any intelligent person say that im dealing.
You,re prbably charged with trafficking due to number of plants,but you gotta remember cultivation is just as bad in some cases.
Gotta tell your lawyer you,re looking for a plea deal which will keep you outta any serious shit.(like jail)..Drag it out.With the courts so busy these days they wanna get you in and out of court with probation or house arrest...IMHO you are starting to panic even before your lawyer has had a chance to talk the case over with the prosecution.....Deals are made all the time.I think I heard that in the end 90+% of ppl. end up peading guilty after making a deal in their favour.As for lawyers they always expect 5-10 K just to take on your case.But I wouldn,t walk into a court house without one no matter the cost.
