Is the 'heaviest yeilder' ever the one with the most crystals?

Ive grown maybe 15+ 'strains', and heaviest yielder is never the the one with the most crystals.

Every time, one sister is the prettiest, and another sister is the yielder.

Ive always thought as phenos as women, some have pretty faces, some are smart, some have perfect bodies, but catching all three in one is not something your gonna find easily.

Am i way off base here?

Ive had some heavy yielders that were sticky and coated, but honestly ive had strains that were coated with crystals that were mediocre and ive had some that you could hardly see any crystals that was a 2x4 to the head. In my mind, visible crystals arent the best indication of potency.

I like that analogy of phenos to women's characteristics.
Yield/physical attributes might be nice but the other qualities we hunt for are commonly the reasons a specific strain/pheno stays in my garden.

keep looking, there are way too many fish in the ocean to count, same goes for women and weed when looking for something that fits your desires

ive been seeing lots of high yielders with nice bulbous gland development

You are not off base though the majority of the time exactly what you say will happen. I also think the fact that many breeders breed parallel lines when breeding to reinvigorate the main line when stabilizing so you will see a heavy pheno and light pheno many times because this is just what they choose to do.

I certainly agree that the best looking bud is not always the best (My LemonG looks like garbage compared to my other stuff, but it it my 2nd favorite [behind the Stagyian Purple of course]).

FWIW, my favorite trait is 'wonderful taste', something i think is few and far between.

And im not 'married' to any of these ladies, i'll always keep looking

The biggest yielder is never the keeper in my garden, but I do grow them twice, do a full 3 month cure and smoke it myself before I determine who the keepers are. Which means I have at least a half a pound of all pheno's, one of the weakest points of my op. There are great heavy phenos if ya just want money, my gig is about quality.

CheeseBerry Haze was my best all time yielder and no slouch in resin or potency either. Quite the steal at $35 a pack

These are from back when I was still using my old 250 HPS's, I can only imagine what they would do under bigger lights.

It happens, but I think most growers WAY underestimate how rare it is to trip upon such a keeper ... most seem to assume they spent $$ on the seeds, so there must be an ultimate plant in there. Usually not ... your analogy is a good description of the typical outcome.

Iron Lion- Ive seen those pics once or twice and I always love them.

This is a good thread about a topic that I ponder always. Gotta get somewhere in the middle most of the time... Unless you pop a few packs, that ONE plant isnt common. Ive been looking to replace this Menthol Lemon pheno of a lost mother... few packs and f2s and still no luck.

I have some platinum OG Kush that is very heavy and resinous. chernobyl is more crystally than the OG but not as heavy on the vield but still really really good. the chernobyl has been none to get some seedy phenos so im looking to try something new. might have to stick with the platinum og. heard Sour Flower is suppose to be a big pretty women that's up next. lol
