Hydrogen Peroxide or H2O2 and You!

Casual grower, that was water temp. Water temp was 73.5 F a few minutes ago according to my TDS pen.

Air temp, who knows? My AC is set to 60 (just lowered it from 68 last night so it might take a while to get it as low as it'll go). Six feet in front of the AC my portable heater's readout says 69 F. The TDS pen said 76.1 F right by the mum but I don't know how accurate it is for air temps. The crappy mercury garden thermometer hanging in the veg room said 85 but it might need to equalize because I just hung it there a minute ago and it was laying on its side last night. Definitely doesn't feel 85 in there, feels more like 75.

I have some yucky fungus thing going on with two of my Blue Dreams right now. The outer roots are not falling off, but when you give those ones the slightest pull they break off. The only thing I can think of is that there was either too much bad bacteria, the water needed to be changed out, the RH was too high, the water temperature was too high, I got bad genetics from the get or a number of those possibilities. It has been pretty humid in the grow room, but the other plants are doing alright. Even the Blue Dreams that are sharing the tub. I am going to rinse them in a solution of H2O2 and see what results I get from it... The thing I am worried about is that H2O2 is like an antibiotic. It doesn't discriminate against good bacteria. So I am wondering if a rinse with a solution of H2O2 and then adding good bacteria to the water would work. And if so, what kind do you guys recommend? Those plants look really bad. All of that hard work for WEEKS and I maybe losing two plants that I was expecting a decent yield... Pretty heart breaking and discouraging.

Oh for sure... It is so sad to watch something grow into a beautiful plant and then to have it take a shit in the middle of flowering. I am getting pretty addicted to it. My boyfriend works so hard to keep everything going right. This just came out of the blue. Grrrr.

Ok, so what kind of good bacteria would you recommend? They look like they have given up completely...

this is very intresting i was told to always add 5ml a gal with nuets once a week with ferts hmm im also runing in aero so oxygen shouldt be a problem i used it to keep my rez and roots clean and never seen a negative affect from it yet but from what your saying i should just stop useing the h2o2 all togather and just keep doing my reg clearx flush every 3 weeks? cuz if i had to drain the rez anyway to add the h202 then add nuets a hr later dam near same thang as doing a flush and adding fresh nuets.

Krazy, I too add 5mL/gallon of hydrogen peroxide with nutes present (House and Garden Aqua Flakes). Haven't seen any problems, half way thru flowering now.

The other two of our Blue Dreams are looking better and we are treating them with H2O2 and plain water for the moment. I was just concerned because I know a lot about the balance of bacteria in our bodies is really delicate. I know we are not talking human bodies, but everything living has good and bad bacteria to survive. So I was just curious, but my boyfriend has assured me that it will be ok. :)

Thanks guys for your info, this is MY first time at it, so I am a little nervous. I just want my girls to grow into beautiful women.

Just 5 min ago I added what was suggested from the bottle and grow store! I guess I'll follow thru what was suggested and hope for the best. I have a couple week olds in DWC showing some root rot so I gave it 4ml to 2 ish gallons of CES solution. tomorrow I'll put some hygrozyme in and see if that helps. I had discussion at the grow store about DM zone and I'm thinking of using it with my CES nutes all the way thu to prevent root rot.

I know it's an old thread, but the very first post is BS- H2O2 does not break down to ozone...
