You don't really convert, you just use 1 of the 2 hot legs, a neutral and ground to make your 110, where 220 has 2 hots, a neutral and should have a ground.
I suppose you could get a sparky to make you an adaptor to do this.
cool... thank you for the corrections on terms... ;-)
i'm trying to avoid putting in a new breaker & running wire... looking for a band aid solution... if possible...
knew you could buy 'insert proper term here', which would let one run a 120V device on a 240V outlet. specifically, i've got an mlc 240V/40A... not using but 4 plugs, but do have 1600W/120V heater that i would like to tie into, if at all possible...?
i can run a new breaker & line, that was the plan... i just have this controller already set, but not to capacity. it's a dual trigger, so makes it really convenient for me to put another timer there & power the heater at night. if i can get it to power a 120V device, on the side... lol
All you need is to go buy a plug that fits your receptacle, and rewire it. Use wire of the same gauge as is installed on the run to the 240V outlet. The white wire in your 120V cable goes to neutral, and the black wire goes to either one of the two hot wires. Don't forget to ground everything.
